Open the box - Trick ?
Open the box - Trick ?
I cant honestly believe barcrest would release a machine with such a poor profile, which leads me to believe theres a trick on the OTB's..
I keep ontop of a few of them which always cost a fortune a) for a board, and b) to get buzzed up, if indeed thats possible.
Ive seen 200 go into one with about 50 coming out and the common 10 quid 10 sec gone jobbie kicking in..
Is is possible - have barcrest finally lost the plot ?
Ohh if anyone has any info a PM would be appreciated ...

There's one of these near me and, although having only played it a couple of times, I haven't found it too bad. I don't enjoy the playability much, and you can tell from one board if it's worth playing immediately, or leaving for someone else to perhaps roll ten / twenty through before pressing on.
Getting past the £10 block is the key to this, as if you do break past it, you shouldn't come off too bad (dependant on how much you've put in before breaking the block, of course!)
I wouldn't suggest 'opening the box' unless you are only a few quid in and all of the values that are left are above the £10.
Not sure of any 'signs' regarding features being offered - a lot are similarly named to those on CADD, but not sure if the value is equivalent. £10 / £15 shots on the cash side would also state 'nearness'.

Crikey, well, as I say, I've not played it many times, but once past that £10, it's only taken another £20 or so to MS the few times I have played it. As I said, the playability alone should consign it to the bonfire. It's only something I'll play when everything else has been done...

Yup sounds about right, i've seen 100 go in from offering Tenners plus - from start. Had it offer the 35 cash then take another 25 to get mega for flat 35, then stone dead..blah blah..
Somone mentioned about getting the 99 nudges and getting 8 keys to guarentee the 35, well i';ve have 50/50 success some it worked on others it didnt (on same machines btw). Seems the easiest way to get JP than cash climbing on the other side.
Another thing that has dissappeard is the 'red' mode. Not had one for weeks now. Just like getting the flash on TAW, once people knew the SH rips they never flashed afterwards.
My guess is somone is rippin em and keepin the pots low

having gone out to a few pubs and bars in town this weekend, not working, but socialising.. I noticed maybe two people play the fruit all night. And then only a couple of quid.
Guess people don't fancy losing a days work to get one dead board anymore.
Really, the era of club machines in pubs is upon us, and most people can't afford to do their sack in them.
I postulate that the play just isn't what it used to be.

And I'd agree with you there Blackmogu - Even a year or so back when the £25's were the main thing to play, things were generally OK - it was not often that 'bollock-doing' would occur, as if you played the right things, (at the right time!) generally you'd be up.
I used to be able to get my route done and have at least an extra £200 on 80% of Fridays that I'd play - and still have plenty of time to enjoy a few pints in other pubs before going down for my bowling league (7:00).
With the £35ers though, it's a lot more of a struggle - there's about 60% less machines worth playing (my playlist now consists of 1xVortex, 1xSMTM, 1xCADD 2xInvincibles) Anything else is generally a lost cause, or a try for a board only type affair (FUS, DONDs, etc).
I guess a bigger 'route' is now required to still be able to pull in the funds as before, but frankly, I can't be arsed! I tend to play the Reds and CADD as above, and then call it a day. Was £40 last Friday come the end of the evening, which I'm in no way complaining about, but the previous times of three-figure-uppage sums are on the wane - mainly due to:
- £35 JP not grabbing the casual punters.
- £35 JP meaning a lot more required to break to the top.
- Recent machines have pretty much removed all skill involvment.
- A surge in generally poor machines being produced.#

yep totaly agree fruits are generally taking more money to give you anythink half decent back, i mean 70% of the time it can take £6+ (thats 3 pints) to even get on the board! with the price of beer going up all the time people cant be arsed with em. Most of the time they can cut a good night short.
how about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray.
... and with price of petrol, a Polish chauffeur and car insurance going through the roof it's just not worth it.stevens9005 wrote:yep totaly agree fruits are generally taking more money to give you anythink half decent back, i mean 70% of the time it can take £6+ (thats 3 pints) to even get on the board! with the price of beer going up all the time people cant be arsed with em. Come on you Royals
Yes I've been playing a lot of different machines over the last few months and I've found :
Jailbirds Is the only machine that has dropped the JP in the 1st couple of boards on more than a couple of occassions.
Almost any Red takes at least £25 to break through to the top unless you've been extremely lucky to drop on it at the right time.
Rovers/Panthers are generally the best at getting a cheap JP but thats your lot then no afterplay at all.
Cool games/Games media stuff almost always takes £50+ for the force.
Unless you know how to rip a JP or have the funds to force a red,JB,HC then a JP on a £35 AWP is nigh on impossible for people now.

Big mistake playing for next board cost me 21 quid. WTF. Decided to recycle and go for another. Put a 20 in got another 35 (off the 8 knockouts)..
Didnt bother for nxt board this time..
