It is a bit of a shame that they aren't releasing anything anymore, although they're still on the 'crest website. Thinking back, they had quite a share of machines around the end of the 90s:

Wildfire
Holy Smoke
Funny Money
Spin 'n' Tonic
Spin On It
Mortal Wombat
Trailblazer
Wipeout
Double Impact

Sure there were plenty more aswell... ;)

To be fair Funny Money was pretty dire. Best impulse was Gazza's World Cup '98. "'ello referee".

Ah, Gridrunner, was trying to remember that one - I could picture it with the blue, green, red and white hexagons but couldn't remember the name.

11th Heaven... ;)

Oh no, the Flashback feature music. That was too, too catchy. USed to find myself tapping to it all the time!

Good little method too on that one! One for JG to try and decipher, I'd say it was at about a 138bpm. Come on JG, let's see it conerted into 'words'! ;) ;)

Some other sound effects from it:

"Chaaaaaaaaa!"
"Woah, baby!" (Said really fast when you lose!)
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

I assume you're referring to blast-a-swoppa-blasta-bloopa not the full whippety whoopa.
Played the £5 version in Cardiff Shipleys this Spring. Sound chip was fooked, like that Bar-7 in Hoouugby with 'Make a million' sFX. Yes Carl, Dave, Slammer, DMD, FJ and Kesh you must have heard it at some point.
Also played it on a player like a playa in Ell Eff Eee (J21) some time last year when they had a pea too whyber (not that I could play 'em out back then - disgrace, had the p1 early, been down this road before) and some other Dondey stuff. Can't remember the music. I've got that stupid mambo mimbo jingley jangley Funny Money in my head with a bit of BOOOM DA BOOOM (distort) BOOOOM DA BOOOMO.......aaaaaarrhhhhh (orgasmic) WIPEOUT.....repeat to BOOOM, from Wipeout.

Cannae for the lfie of me rmemeebr the muzak, so cannot even attempt word form. Sorry to dis happoint Mr. DJ vinyl Spin 'em DJ, hey DJ gimmie something to dance to!
I'll do some other music in word form. This is nudges on Neptune's Treasure.

Doooo dooooo doooooo -dooooooooo - do (wubbly) doo be dooby doo do do. Dab DAB DAB dah dooooo duuurblywuuurblyduh (nudged in feature there, did you hear it)?

Shazam! Soothing boat siren invincible noise thing. Dalalalalalalalalallalala........BEHOLD!

Time for my injection. Dooooo da doo de (beep) dooo doo doo da (beep) dooo dooo doo dee doo (beep) dooo da doooo daa dooo (beep)

Doctors and nurses there. Notice the regular beeps. Nice touch.

I'll start at the bottom and work my way up.
Eeeeeek!

My favourite. Funky Town by M1ainc. Duuufa duffa duumba duuufaa DANG DA-TWANG DANG-DA-TWANG Duffa duffa etc

Sorry if you thought this posting was poor. That is because you were reading it at 8khz. Try listening to it on Vinyl. Vinyl is fantastic and knocks the cold clinical nature of CDs and Muurp3s into a cooked (and sauted) hat. Cocked. There is lots of HIGH end treble fizz (20khz+) which adds warmth and emotion to the sound. It may not be squeaky clean clinical, but the sound is so much more soulful man. Soulful. CDs were a fad as DVD and Bloop-ray will be, but vinyl, vinyl, fantastic sound medium. Never change your name to Matt Bloop-ray or Matt-TDK 180 casette tape. However the humble casette tape, don't knock it, don't knock it. What would the evening sessions with John Peel have been without casette tapes? eh? What other medium bought the gift of recording audio to most households in the '80s? Then CDs, can't really moan. Remember the joy of being able to skip effortlessly between tracks and summon up music at your beck and call. However vinyl rules. Not Lionel Vinyl in Blackpool. That's silly. No fruitie in there either, just a skill pool machine thing like wot they used to have in that Bus station near what used to be Krystals but is something else now. There was a puzzle bobble in there as well. Gone now hasn't it? Checked there for old time's sake last year when the old p1 yabba blabbas were still around, lol@Holland's new shop. Is it still there? Bloop. Over and out.

Fizzle crackle.

I was pondering going down the C15 route, or maybe even a Ferric Oxide (FeO2) version as opposed to Vinyl, but it just didn't have the quality and warmth required. Analog over digital everytime, of course.

Tape, eh? The Signal-Noise ratio was almost the reverse to most other mediums. Nothing like a bit of authentic vinyl crackle though... ;)
