Caning
How many people can own up to the last time they completely cleared out their immediate available slotting funds ?
I did last night after a trip to the casino. It was one of those mentally expected outcomes, any profit would have been a bonus. Call it a 1 off blow out if you like, I had written the money off before I spent it so I was going to make sure I enjoyed myself in the process.
It was the wifes birthday so we were in town drinking to start off and we had a nice few hits in the pubs before entering the casino.
2 hours of Blackjack and Jack Daniels saw a dent of £300 to the paper money fund not to mention stumping another £300 for the wife as it was her Birthday.
Then it was downstairs to put £160 in some S16 random shit and then I loaded all my coins into it, about £400. Didn't win a bean. Tried to get some more cash but was declined as Natwest were down last night, which in retrospect was a good thing.
I can take the hit on the chin quite easily, it's just in the cold light of day when I go back to 'sensible playing' it means replenishing the paper money to the tune of £300 for back up and then creating a new pound coin float of about £200 for starters.
Couple that lot with the fact I had no joy at on line poker yesterday so that needs about £300 bunged at it then it's not been a great weekend financially, but it was fun nonetheless.
Next casino visit scheduled for the 32nd of nevertember

Confucius say "man who know wombat know more than stupid looking monkey"
we've all lost occasionally theres no doubt about that.
Your losses did sound a little careless though !
I play blackjack in casinos on a regular basis and there are 2 things that help me....
1/Solid basic strategy
2/NO DRINKING !!
Those 2 things will help protect your wallet.
I dont accept anyone saying they can afford to lose the money.
There's always many better things you could have done with it than give it to a casino.

If I had a million squids and spent £1000 in the casino, then would you not agree that I could afford to lose that £1000 ?petera wrote: I dont accept anyone saying they can afford to lose the money.

My case if only the same but with smaller numbers. None of the money I lost was designated for vital purposes such as bills, mortgage etc, it was disposable income.
I agree that there are may better things to spend it on, but it doesn't mean I couldn't afford to lose the money does it ?

if i have a very bad unlucky ( call it what you want day) and im say for example a ton plus down , i dont go off the rails and go on a munter .
just take it on the chin and start fresh tomoz
only happens around 4-5 times a year anyway
however to make myself feel better i sometimes double the loss by buying clothes ps games etc , doesnt realy work but i supose its comfort buying.
max ive ever lost in a day is 200
i know of a bloke in leicester , once a great slotter that had no dissapline , if he were to lose 30quid on his first bandit , he wouldnt carry on with the day , he would just go to the bookies for one big bet , 10% of the time it would pay off and he would win his loss back and a cpl of hundread prof
but most the time he would end up skint going home
its not about the odd loss now n again
its about your overall dissapline work ethic

saying that mind how may of you have been done in the ladbrokes in birch services, many a time done my rocks in there, went in there for the toilet only to have cost me 300-800 in the roulette machine quite often. ihad more but i wouldnt go all out on these.
Southend Casino used to have a £200 jp Super Blackjack which i used play most nights. This was obviously quite a few moons ago and was when they only had 2 machines. Making about £100 average on each visit meant i needed to be very good at staying away from the tables.
I went in early one day and done £740 on the old wheel in under 15 minutes. I can tell you this made me feel extremely sick indeed!!!!
And to make things worse i was banned from the Casino a few days later after i managed to get the top and gamble for a little under £50. Which also made me feel sick.
I hate Casino's.
Least i managed to get back in there for the slams a few years later! LOL
Well until i got banned for a second time anyway!

I remember sitting in a casino for 7 hours sharking some bloke on a £1000 costadel cash. He was on the verge of leaving it when he dropped it off cash knockout. I felt as though i'd lost a grand, not missed out on a grand.
Some 20 minutes later and I had indeed now lost a grand, chasing 17 and the neighbours on the wheel of misery. There was nothing more certain than me losing that money, but strangely what pissed me off was the fact my train fare had gone up 40p. I was more bothered about that.
On another occasion I was on the way to the casino one day when a couple of scumbags on bmx's attempted to mug me. I was carrying £2800. They grabbed my fresh 20 deck of bensons, and were happy enough so off they went. I was shaking. Not because I could feasibly have been stabbed, but because I stood to lose the cash, meaning I'd be unable to have a damn good session on the tables. I remember not feeling safe until i'd got inside the casino.
The irony of course being the fact that I was now exposed to far greater dangers, ie, roulette, blackjack and that horrendous 3 card brag game with a laughably high house edge.
I guess my high point where casinos are concerned was the night I won £10500, and this being after I was in for nearly 4k. I remember the bloke behind me in the queue saying; "Hurry up Rich. I've got a tenner to cash in!"
I remember thinking in the cab home from the massage parlour afterwards that I would probably never win such an amount again, i'd never see blackjack running so well as it did for 2 shoes, and that I was incredibly lucky not to have been walking home skint. I was barely 20 at the time, and fearless as far as money was concerned, and the casino knew that with that attitude I was capable of hitting them hard. But I gave great consideration to putting the money to good use, after all it was a potentially life changing sum.
Despite this, and not being short of ideas and suggestions, I still couldn't think of anything better to do with the money than lose it back to them, and that is why I found myself stood anxiously outside the same casino in the rain at 1:50pm the following day, waiting for it to open at 2pm.
I was carrying just short of 12k in mostly £50 notes.
The management had that look about them that they were clearly expecting me back.
By 3:45pm I was back at the train station, dazed, but thanking god i'd bought a return ticket.

This is a strange thing that I suffer from too. I can be a couple of hundred up (losing £6-8 occasionally trying Bellfuits for boards) but will be annoyed when my cab's £1 more than expected.Mr McStreak wrote: There was nothing more certain than me losing that money, but strangely what pissed me off was the fact my train fare had gone up 40p. For some reason money in machines, on tables, in fobt's etc. is a world away from the money you spend every day. I'll always look for special offers but wont think twice about whacking a quick score in something shit. I'll always buy Carling in a 'spoons when Fosters is 30p more but then go £100 into something.
Can anyone else associate with this?
