I did have a great couple of weeks recently, but the point is 2 weeks ago i had so many more hits on my doorstep. Now i have sod all, and it requires long days and mileage all week. I mean i did go out all day today and make near on £250, a nice bit of COB'age on a cops n robbers of all things returning a good £50 profit. Was ready when i was on it, then boosted to £20 4th board.....had to have a pop really. Worked well too, though didn't get royally involved. Cut it at 4 £25s, a couple of £15s and a SS. Strangest bit was a copper doing a £40 top - why?!

Had a natter to the mighty BFK this afternoon, feck me does that boy get around the country. Plymouth today, had to laugh when i heard where he was

ive got 30k of it in premium bonds , doesnt pay as much overall as a high intrest acc would , but then its a free flutter without the gamble

as for the housing market, i could only realy invest 70 , because i would always have to have backup ready cash for emergencys etc

to be honest happy renting , but when this game is over , will be looking for investment oppotunitys , want my money to work for me , but thats easier said than done

I enquired about premium bonds this year because I got told that the taxman (I know we don't pay tax even though we play fruits as "principle earnings") is not interested in them as they are in actual fact, a loan to the government.

However, I decided not to pursue as you have to be on the electoral roll in order to get them.

how it works grant is this .

its backed by the treasury so your gaurenteed you cant lose your cash , its a prize draw , with a percentage of the intrest on every members money being given to the prize fund however the overall chances of winning a prize are worked out, at about 24000 to 1 , so basicly in order to pretty much win at least one prize a month , you should invest 24k

it doesnt always work out like that though , some months i win nowt , then other months i might get six cheques through the door

the draw is on the first of the month , so if you get a knock on the door on the second your a millionaire lol ,i wish

then the scale of prizes are worked out and sent to you over the month
so if you get owt between the 13th and 16th of the month you can pretty much gaurentee its 50 or 100pound

i once got one through the door on the 6th ,so got my heart racing but was only 500 quid

it is all relative to what you invest though , i win almost every month with my 30k investment , but i know of one poor sod my m8 who only has 8k invested and i think he has only won 3 times in as many years

so if your thinking about it ,,,,,,,,, def worth a flutter but only realy if your gonna put a minimum of 24k to it

hope this helps anyone interested

ive roughly recieved 1700 in my first year , 1500 in my second , and november will be the end of my third , and im up about the same so far

A savings account can offer a better rate of return, but of course you have the outside chance of scouping the £500,000.

The problem with savings at the moment is that they only guard against inflation.

Typical 6% intrest saving account - 20% tax = rate of 4.8%.

Inflation is currently 4.4% (forecast 5%, next RPI review) so there is no real gain.

I'm looking to get involved in a couple of but-to-lets when we hit the botton of the trough.

I'm sure we can get the tax returned on our savings as we dont pay income tax. Think it counts towards your yearly allowance, so we should get 5k of interest tax free.

I'm not positive

Yup thats right but the revenue would start asking questions about how your getting by with no income.

Hmmm getting by mabe - but what are you guys doing for pension ?

I hope you are all at least paying a stamp - this will secure you the government state pension - ok, granted it wont be hundreds, but something is better than nowt. Also to be eligable, you need to have put in for 44 years..(somehting around that anyway).. They also offer catch up schemes..

I think its a given fruitmachines, wont be the same in 10 years, fook, make that 3 years, so you lot are going to need something to fall back on.

this is the thing you see, when it all goes pearshaped, and we all get older (it happens to us all) what are you going to do if you haven't got a trade to fall back on, if you haven't been paying national insurance contribution you are not going to get a pension
