The great £2000 theory!

In another topic, the topic has drifted into arguments about a lad that says he makes about 2 grand a week on fruits and everyone thinks its bolox.

So I thought Id start a topic based upon this theory with the appropriate heading

2000 a week works out at £286 a day.

The lad has already said that he keeps himself to himself and works out bits n bobs himself. He says he works long days and plays on his own.

Bearing in mind all the above, I cannot believe people think that £286 profit a day is ludicrous and he must be lying ?!?!?


Admitidly it is not enough for him to have worked out a full empty (unless its crap like BTB and has a huge setup cost with potential loss problems), but if he has figured a way to play a common machine for consistent profit because it is left alone by others, then £300 a day is a comfortable target.

He doesnt mention whether this is after expenses such as food/fuel etc, but that doesnt really matter as its still well within reach.


Many of you that know me, know that I started work a few months ago fulltime. I did this because I got really fed up with the lifestyle (or lack of) of a player, the change in the market and an opporunity was offered to me that I couldnt refuse. The decider of it all was that making £100 a day was becoming a struggle (I rarely play on my own, which means we needed to make 250+ a day before expenses for me to take home £100) and if I wouldnt work for less than £100 a day (average) in 1997, Im not doing it now when £100 doesnt even get a tank of fuel + a chinese!!!

Ah Ha I hear you say, so £300 a day everyday isnt possible? In my case no, as I had nothing special up my sleeves after WIYB and my area is absoutely shite (decent pubs are rare, and the boxes take no muppet money) and I really cant be arsed with driving to big towns like Northampton, Leicester, Nottingham everyday to make money. Too old and too damn tired. But if I worked like I was 21 again, then I feel I could make a confortable £200 a day on my own after expeneses without uncovering anything new.



The whole argument really got me interested though as to what 'alleged' full time 'professionals' really earn? A lot of people on here just play for a kick or for beer money (like I admitidly still do some evenings), but without mentioning names, there is a few people on here who see themselves as full time pros but nobody has chirped up saying 2k a week aint all that !!!

In my experience of life I have found that people at the top of the tree rarely shout about it
They generally keep quiet and enjoy the money

So based on this my opinion is our friend is talking out of his arse.

mmmmm intresting.

i think alot of full time players are buying time. the amount of playable stuff has become less and less by the day. 200-300 a day 5 years a go was very achievable. i too have stopped playing full time although it was 3years ago.

to make constant profit of £1500 - £2000 a week i think is extremely hard nowadays. not only do you need good info, you need to be fairly high up at the info tree. in the past you could get your hands on some good info and could last 8 months or so. people back in the days didnt have mobile phones, so the speed of info speading was very slow.

ive met many people in the past that has made around 200-300 a day, but now i would say its very very difficult.

the situation in casions didnt help as now its all vegas style machines .

even if you were making 100 a day that and thats going oiut all day from pub to arcade to pub, car parking, then go for food then worrying about parking ticket , then going to next pub to find your barred .... doing this for 6 days a week for 100 ..

this is why is stopped. 100 a dai isnt all that now, but if your one of the ones that is making 2k a week (legit ) make the most of it.

Fairly good point- Back in the day, I wouldnt want people knowing that you could make good money from machines. But in 2008, EVERYONE knows that it can be done, what has been done and sadly, how to do it.

Also, when I was making good money, I didnt have time to get involved in crappy forums lol.

I agree. 100 a day in the UK in 2008 is pretty worthless. You arent gonna live a luxury on that, and putting yourself through slotting day in and day out, you gotta have luxuries or it just aint worth it.

Make the most of it? I agree again. The number of people that put money into machines, let alone Pro Players will drop like hell (again) in the next 12 months.

I know for a fact that areas like Brum and London are still rich in 'playable' fruits, but if you dont live close enough or have knowledge of the area, ur screwed. Areas like Leics/Northampton are more for your cash attack/reds that are ready every 2 days and just have to be hammered to f**k, but the moneys there.

Come christmas and I dont think it will be, thats why I went the job route, otherwise I'd be staying in hotels in brum mon-fri and slotting my arse off for a guaranteed 200/300 a day every week now until the next trick or the fruitie dies for ever.

You know me Lee, I used to run slotting as a business. Recording locations for every town, keeping track of profit/loss, mileage, expenses, everything. I used to get pub locations and put them onto sat nav YEARS ago before every man and his dog got onto the sat nav fazz.

wetherspoons refloating wiyb £250 a day.
go out extra early wait outside one spoons with £100 in your pocket
when it opens 30min later you walk out with atleast £320 and thats just one machine.
do every spoons in the area before the other punters get there and you've made over a grand in a few hours on one day.
a few months ago almost every spoons in my area had a wiyb and all refloated.
all chipped now but you could have made alot more than a few grand a week just from wiyb.

2k or not 2k ,THAT is the question.as for the answer,it's a toss up between probability and possibility,while indeed possible ,the improbable jumps straight at me.i have no doubt that 2k in a week can be made with a hushy ,hush, hush,fiddle,diddle,....in the short term that is ,if i am to believe that the player in question is a regular, long term ,super dooper, rupee scooper,i will need more than ambiguous postings.

the average wage in this country for a 5 day week is well below 500quid

i would settle for a consistent ton a day tax free , as opposed to minimum wage

I would have to agree that a one'r a day is a good respectable sum of money that many hardworking people still aspire to.

silentg you know it's not quite that easy. Nowadays if you have the p2 wiyb, as it's such a rarity, you're taking what you can, whilst you can.
Back in the day it was a struggle to hit a K on the p1 wiyb? Why? I hear you screech. There were all sorts of problems.


i) Information is worth money. I wanted this kept a secret. Going hell for leather on the second feature up will attract attention. I had to be super alert for snoops. Playing solo and keeping aware for snoops is intensive. If someone so much as got a sniff of what was up, things could blow out of proportion. In other words, if someone got inquisitive, it was time to move on.

ii) Playing in teams halves profit.

iii) How low do you go? It's 7pm at the Litten Tree on Leicester High Street. Fun Nudging Criminals is full and dropping on wood. Pink panther is full and dropping on wood. p1 wiyb is full and dropping on wood, how greedy do you get, given the fact that not a word has been blabbed on this site, or any other?

iv) It is actually quite hard to play fruit machines 24/7 or even 12/3 sometimes. You need to sleep, eat, defeacate, masturbate, cogitate, have sexual intercourse, ruminate, urinate and maybe, just maybe have a life outside of machines. Don't forget to breathe either, but you can do that whilst playing.

v) Some people use them as change machines. Even worse the change machine is switched off in the service area and only half the machines have notechangers. Quite easy to find a £250 wiyb way ahead with about £55 in it.

vi) Malfunctions, sticking start buttons the primary culprit, bust microswitches dodgy mechs, out of sync number reels.

vii) Locations. Back in early 2007 Link had rolled these out in a few services and alleys, but they were slower hitting the pubs. They didn't turn up in Houeventry pubs until quite late in the day.



The worst one was number one. Tamworth services and Northampton Tenpin were so open and so f'ing noisy. Tamworth lol, had a Power 5 next to it. Oh jesus, that *would* have been guaranteed to be unchipped. Also a CCP.

viii) Lack of discipline. Playing the same game gets repetitive. I remember losing about two hours in the Loughborough Showboats as I didn't find any wiyb locations. Should have written off petrol/parking and driven up to Nottingham. There you go.


I checked this site nearly every day whilst I was out playing them. I didn't post iirc, but apart from the odd 'I notice a lot of wiyb are left on 10p play' comment. It was safe.

I spoke to a couple of other weasels around the country and the exchange of words was guarded. It seemed a fair few people had this down as a good rip. Stake change seemed obvious progression. Also a 5p/50p Rovers in Toddington!

It stayed quiet on here until the 'soon u will see ver is something on this' post came out. My heart sank, the rot was here.
The final nail was of course when it was on Ebay for £4.99
At the time there were still a £125 and a £250 that I was doing.

I look back and wonder if I would have made more if I had left say a tenner in every single one. If I had travelled more, oh yeah

ix) Travelling around checking locations. Can be time costly and a waste of petrol.

Yeah, I left Nottingham untouched. Stupid. Why so insular?

Leciester was golden though. Absolutely golden back in the day.



Back on track. You've got two p2s in two Weatherspoons.

Well do one at 9am or whenever, by the time you've taken your £220 out and got over to your other 'spoons, it'll probably have had the same done to it. Then you'll go in and get barred or it'll have tape over the notechanger and be £125ed or totally underfloated. All you can do is go for it, make hay. If you don't, someone else will. Lucky to have a £250 p2. Sweet. Don't f*ck about on the kiddies ball machine!

I must say i am pretty lucky where i live got a holiday camp(butlins) where only me and 2 other mates are allowed in there which took some time getting mates with the managers etc etc and as everyone who plays £5's a lot will tell you to make £50 a day on £5s in butlins is easy then got the all the £35's etc 3 vortex's ccp show me the mummy 2 campers set of monops 3 road to riches and a few other things in there, got another arcade with a few £5 emptys and some other things then on top of that have got pubs etc etc so not doing too bad at the moment

I can beleive it Mr. Chandler. I popped somewhere I don't usually go with some £5 Extremes and two visits about two hours about netted around £30 profit just from those machines. More than the £35 machines they had there. Chuck in a ziggy, a few good old Simpsons a CCash and yes, it's safe money. Plus a lot of muntlings who aren't red hot on trying to get back value and it's really happy days.
