It's always interesting to hear how much players are making, or claim to be at least.

I do my routes that take the best part of eights days, then have a couple of days off.

the money I make is very good compared to a regular job, but after all is said and done, and even though I have saved a fair ammount, I regret not staying at college and being part of the usual society of the working class.

Like many older pro's, i've had my turn "at the top" and getting the early info, working methods out and the like.

But in the end, I wish I'd never put that first coin in that machine (BFM's Nudge Now).

That is far to much of a sensible post for you HRK(damn these 3 letter users). And it shows you are out of character.

At the end of the day, if your making enough to live on then keep doing it, eventually a job will be required but while the goin's good, keep goin I say. If like Greenbelter, you are losing all the time then quit.

No offence HRK, but if you really think £5,200 a year is the correct value to extract from a years earnings for someone with kids, a house, a car etc etc then you really are showing your age here. The average mortgage these days would be nearly double that a year!!

Not trying to be funny mate but I don't think you can apply to get a mortgage and say your a full time Fruit Machine player.

I assumed the most of us here are Jobless who are supporting them selves with Fruit Machine who have no House to pay off but the majority have a car and maybe pay rented accomodation if not living with the parents.
Yes but don't you have a few houses yourself lukestar?

Notice I spelt "amount" with 2 "m's".

I feel bad about having a go at RedGamer for his spelling now . . . . .

I dont recall saying that you could.

Having said that trying getting one after you've told them you're on £15k a year working in an office...........

The original topic was that Greenbelter has given up playing cos he keeps getting burnt. Thats is the correct decision.

All I am saying, is that, if you're good enough to earn the equivalent of a half decent job playing machines then there is no reason to stop right now. In a few years then a job will be needed but for those fortunate enough to get buy and have a reasonable lifestyle for the time being then why stop?

The longer you leave it the harder it will become, believe me theres alot of kids coming out of College/Uni who will snap up any job you think you got a chance at, best to get your foot in the door now before its a little bit too late.

I worked for 10 years mate, so it will be easier for me than others.

Why have you gone all sensible by the way? Doesn't suit you. Insult me or something, I liked it that way.

A years mortgage is somewhere between 8k and 10k. Depends how much you put down towards the property to begin with. Also the interest rates. Your 5,200 is nowhere near enough.

Fairplay, seems we're being very civil today.

Interesting how people's opinions differ. Trayhop loves the games. Mitchell kind of regrets it. On the road last year was fantastic fun, although a lot of it was (sing) 'all by myself'. It is actually quite tiring, blapping in winstoppers after a ten hour session, dry as a bone then doing the food shopping at 12:30am. Come on, chasing around after x amount of 'super dead' dials on 70% payout is just not so fun (unless they're there). It's only fun if you win and the more you win, the more fun it is. Having a virtually guaranteed £300+ easy is sweet. Going out with a guaranteed +£0, but probably value but it's no guarantee is not so hot. Still good to break 20 of the 11th letter touch wood, very superstitious.
Also the abnormal heartbeat is my favourite bit. That's less about the games now and more about everything/one/place/body needs somebody to love/republican being on top.

Got to go to sleep now. Must find another £150 pot for Eddie after boxing with Paris Hilton.

I'd say that probably less than 50% of people on here fall into that category.

I know it always comes down to the same debate, but with...

-A partner
-Kids
-A home to keep up
-A decent car to keep running
-The want for decent food every day

...you simply can not live by the ways of Fruit alone. Boy, I struggle with £35k a year to make ends meet, and I have no debt to speak of and I don't even have to travel to work.

If you look at it another way, you could say that playing the fruits for a living is like going to the pub for a living; all good fun whilst your there, but it won't butter no parsnips! :o

I always remember a line by 'Grandad' in Only Fools and Horses:

"You wanna ease up on this gambling lark, Del. I've seen too many good men end up in the gutter chasing eeeaaaassy money..."
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

you must love OFAH just as much as me matt. if my memory serves me rite, grandad goes on to say he lost a bomb playing cards which were marked, to which rodney/dell says "you new they were marked"

grandad - "yeh i marked em" LOL
how about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray.
