Cheers for the concern Matt!
Fader, I've never lost my bank-card (well, not for at least 2 years), and nobody knows my pin. Somebody took money out of the cash-machine without using my card, which might sound unbelievable, but it's true.
And as you can read from this link, it can happen to the best of us..

It's either an entire dummy ATM (bit unlikely - and you wouldn't get any money out of it which would even more suspicious), or it's just a scanner and pinhole camera attached to an ordinary machine. The scanner reads the card, the camera gets your pin number. All the equipment you need is easily obtainable. You don't know anything is up cos you get your money from the machine as you normally would.
They then have your details without you knowing it. They could have had my details for a while, but they didn't bother taking the pittance out of my account a long time ago, but they waited until I got paid instead.

mum used to work at a bank she said that these con men regularly place the devices on cashpoints about 10pm fri/sat nights and pick them up early the next morning. You get all the info from a busy night and reduced chances of being rumbled as everyone is on the lash and doesnt noticecardinal richelieu wrote:It's either an entire dummy ATM (bit unlikely - and you wouldn't get any money out of it which would even more suspicious), or it's just a scanner and pinhole camera attached to an ordinary machine.
