Did he give any reason why?

I can't see King Johns Castle getting the distance, as it has never won over 2m 4f, so to see it winning 4m 4f might be pushing it.

Still I never seem to pick the winner for this race so maybe that will help it's chances!

Just done a few bets @ paddypower online. E/W pays out on 5th and return on non runners.

Slim Pickings £5 to win @ 11/1
Comply or Die £5 to win @ 10/1
Turko £1 e/w @ 25/1
Mon Mome £1 e/w @ 25/1
L'ami £1 e/w @ 33/1
Madison Du Berlais £1 e/w @ 50/1
Backbeat £1 e/w @ 66/1

My cousin Richard Dunwoody tipped me Backbeat. He reckons should be more like 16/1, good horse apparently? (by the way i know nothing about horses so dont use the above bets as tips apart from Backbeat.)

Backbeat was 100/1 at corals late yesterday, but most hight streets are now only 66's. Has only been out twice in the last 2 years so not really sure how good he is.

Still I have put £1 e/w on him at 80's.

Right lads, here is my bets for the national:

Cloudy Lane £12.50 E/W @ 6/1
Slim Pickings £25 Win @ 11/1
McKelvey £12.50 E/W @ 22/1
Point Barrow £12.50 E/W @ 22/1

£75 staked, with £25 of that £100 in there a freebie. Good luck all, hoping for a nice winner and places there somewhere!

I have backed

Baily breeze 100/1
Backbeat 100/1 & 80/1
Mckelvey 25/1
Dun Doire 28/1
Turko 33/1

But all very small stakes, just hope to get a place to get small return

Thank god i lumped a tenner on comply or die this morning when doing my footy bets! got £110 back which covered the others which did nothing in the end. If i'd had slim picking E/W rather than to win then a bit more, but it'll do.

i had tenner on roulette at ladbrookes, got that up to £30, then put £30 on some bets..

winner i had was £10 stake on comply or die, odds 10/1, and it was a 1st/2nd/3rd/4th thing.. got £72.50 as he came first!

Not a bad haul really :D

how did everyone else do?

Fiver each way then i guess? £5 for the win gives £50, £5 @ a quarter gives £12.50, plus your original stake for the other tenner. Good going, i won sod all as i'd bet quite big elsewhere and nothing came in!

yeah that was right mate!

Am gonna start putting £20 here and there on few bets "each way" every now and again, rather than playing roulette!
