Heh, always good to have a bit of background noise! Sadly, mine are usually in a 'spoons / quietish pub, early in the morning! lol

I now have 3 Money Spiders nearby - and no-one seems to be playing them out. Two of them are in swanky cocktail bars and don't look like the sort of places where people might play; they're non-refill and they seem to fill back up in double-quick time.

I keep it to once a week for each machine - and overcome the lack of the 'All Red' bonus by knocking back any boards offering 'normal' Money Spider. A red Money Spider never seems to cost much more, and seems to do the maximum more often than not if you stay patient. There're so few prizes worth any real value on offer that it's not surprising that the pot builds up so quickly. Mug punters simply don't fluke pots or top features on it. Boards which might be capable of offering one of the better-paying features offer other, poorer features first - as a result, mug punters tend to take these when red and they win £5/6/7, when there may have been more on offer.

The other thing of course is that Money Spider seems unpopular with other players - so many times I've keyed other machines in the pub and found them miles away, but MS is near-full.

As a game it's pretty lifeless, and gameplay is fairly dull - but if you've got the funds and a key it ain't so bad.

Agree with that, so if it's not playing ball, it's often better to just leave it completely. Again Warped & GR seem to offer the repeat cash amounts (red) a lot more if you're just playing for a quick steal.

I've been knocking back the non-red MS boards too, but as you say it's a pretty boring game most of the time. Will be passing mine this Friday, so will scope out it's situation... ;)

I also agree that most 'players' (hate that term!) avoid it, which does mean that there are often pots there for the taking. The silent IM works on this too, and seems more common than on the other varieties?

Dont like spiders and warped as much as btq & bb
as they tend 2 give 45 tops whereas btqs & bbs give
full 70 or 105

Agreed! It does the 2 or 8 (I think it's an 8 anyway..) straight to the mystery for the silent IM comparatively often.

It's hard to explain why Gold Rush and Warped offer the red cash repeat amounts so much more often - it must just be a profile thing. It's that same profile that makes it a surprise to me when red Money Spider doesn't do the full £105.

Allow me to offer you a revised definition of the word 'Player': A person who takes enough £1 coins to force out a top feature in a non-notey pub.
