Consider yourself klaxoned and thinking about it, this one might have originated from QI. Its wiki entry does back up the claim though.

given that they cheated and claimed isle of man/jersey/etc were different countries to imbalance the playing field even more it can't be continental country. i'll guess England, the mightiest country in the world (when we cheat).
