MPU5 fault - staus light flashes 2 red, 12 green - ideas?!
Done it.
Managed to stick the knife in and twist it until the battery gave up its grip. Even left the battery firmly clips in place on the board
It was mentioned in a previous post it was a 3.6v battery i was looking for......the one in this is only 3v.
I expect its correct as its clearly the only one its had, so ill replace it with a 3v also.
Thanks for your help guys - I really would have been stuck without it!
I'll be popping down to b&q for a new one tomorrow. Hopefully this will fix my machine.
Thanks again, and may you all sleep well.

Good evening guys.
After trawling the highstreet, looking in at least 8 battery-selling shops for the correct battery, i couldnt find one........so instead i purchased a smaller 3v button cell (2032).
Can i ask, will it be ok to install this one instead, as it is the same voltage? I expect the main difference is that it will not last as long as the 2450 one?
Thanks!

The digits of the Barcrest alarm code are hexadecimal numbers, e.g. the value ‘C’ is indicated by 12 flashes of the LED. The number of LED flashes for a particular code is shown in the tables of alarm codes which follow.
2x red =2, 12 green =c so fault code is 2c which is flat battery,
to confirm u could always put a meter on the old battery

Morning all.
I dont [yet] have any of the electrical gear (soldering iron, meter) as this is just a hobby. I just buy the odd machine on ebay, and up until now have had no problems.
Ive ordered some of the renata batteries -same ones the board came with - so will give them a go when they arrive.
If that fails, i guess a new mpu5 board is the next step.
Lol....i can picture the missus soon going mad at the amount of time im putting into fixing this. She hates the things as it is!

The correct battery arrived today, but its still flashing 2xred then 12xgreen.
While the new battery is not welded in, ive secured it enough with sellotape to be sure both contacts are made.
I did notice a jumper on the board labelled 'bat', next to the battery. Does anyone know what this does? I removed it, then tried the machine again with no joy

I did initially think it was the psu at fault as it refuses to work when the room is cold - just makes an quiet electrical popping sound every second or so.
It needs replacing, but i did put the psu from a different machine in this one, and the fault remained.......perhaps the psu damaged the mpu5 board? who knows....
Ive now ordered a solder iron, so will affix the battery properly when it arrives.
Thanks for the offer of the new mpu5 board - if the price is right, i may have to buy it.
I could always put the board from my other mpu5 machine in this one, but then if they both werent working after fiddling about, i think id have to cry
