just interested on the layout etc
I found one today in Lloyds No.1 bar, near to Twickenham station. I don't mind saying where it is because it's very rare for me to play in that area and I want people to play it so it passes test :)

markitfc - having played it, trust me you don't need to see a picture of it, as it's identical to the original PCB with the addition of a 50p/30p stake button at the bottom and a 2 next to the PCB logo. If you never saw the original, visit the Barcrest website for a pic.

The gameplay is very similar; the sounds are identical; the layout identical. The only thing I did think was different was (as someone earlier said) that the bonus doesn't behave in quite the same way. MS boards seem to give no clues by starting with an Add Again or a more familiar Taxi start - instead it seems to dump you onto the Taxi square during open play far more often than it used to.

The crystal ball comes into play more on the board now too - from time to time it'll tell you what it's gonna land on next (eg. +2 Knockouts next). I tried manipulating this by working out what number it was gonna have to spin to award the +2 knockouts and going hi/lo on good squares instead - unfortunately it was wise to that and lost the gamble.

Plenty of Let 'em Spins, Feature Bonus next etc - and the 50p stake reduces the length of time between boards compared to the oldie. The Mr. Barcrest button flashes multicoloured, and does so pretty often too - which was nice. Extra Life from the Mystery seemed to crop up quite often too.

I put £110 through this particular one for 3 Mega Streaks (Super Series renamed MS), two were flat and the other went for £50. The next board seemed unhappy so I nabbed a fiver and walked with a very small profit.

I thought it was pretty good, all-in-all. It didn't once offer me Reel Magic but I can see potential for this to be another success, as nothing has really changed from the original game - it's a straight up £35 upgrade. Going hi/lo on the board makes it a better game, I'd say. Hope this one passes test as it's much more enjoyable than half the rubbish wasting space in my locals at the moment.

The only thing that worries me is streak potential - no-one seems to have had a biggy yet.

Nixxy, thanks for the location for PCB2, at Twickenham. I went to play it yesterday. Was the line of lamps along the top of the board out, when you last played it? Also, was the coinslot not right? Two of my nuggets just dropped inside the machine. Crikey, how's a machine supposed to pass test with hardware faults like that.

Anyway, I had quite an enjoyable time. Aye, the fancy flashing button is nice. I had a red £2+Rpt repeat five times. Sorry, yes, I realise I should only be collecting JPMcManuses.

It would be nice to Move Back 3 off a mystery, wouldn't it? I guess that'll never happen with Barcrest.

No, and not that I remember.

Was it full when you got there?

PCB2 was not full when I got there. There was no backing encountered during my visit.

I played this again on Monday. There was a £5 win showing and after the 6th £ it started to back, but it sounded very convincing, anyway I decided to play for the MS. £52 later it decides to give it ( knocked back a couple of 35 offers after £40 in ), a dirty, smelly, flat £35.

I carried on, lo and behold it wasn't backing anymore. A further £9 in to get a board and it offered me £20 so I took it, it may have gone on to offer me the MS or jp but wasn't gonna risk it as I have read about these taking the pi$$ big time.

This machines biggest problem is too many $hitty MS's and fake backing. We need somebody to get a £70+ MS to instill confidence, otherwise you may as well tar this with the same brush as Barcrests other recent offerings.

alot of machines don't drop after the win for the win amount mate, its hardly that suprising ie. reds. It will have been full to start going by what you said.

How many times does it need to be said about this so called 'fake backing'?
All reds do it and most others, its not fake backing
It was genuine full by the sound of it and you made a mistake collecting £20
It would have been there for another
Although it may have gone that board, it also may have cost
But if i had just got £35 after £52 in from full, and then offered £20 next board, i would 100% be going for another

ERRRRRRRR

So you got the JP amount and it offered you £20 next board and you got off it ????????

Did the phrases "run" and "i might be getting it" cross your mind?

I walked away from the machine £6 down, big deal, I was at one point £52 into a pretty much unknown quantity. I've read about it liking to recycle, then recycle some more and I was running out of time as I had to pick the nipper up from an 'after school club'.

More to the point though, I was £89 up and there was no chance I was spoiling my day chasing £6. I do listen ( :? ) to what you guys say and take note but I believe there is a time and a place to chase - this wasn't the place nor the time.

Oh yeah, it may seem weird to some me saying PCB is an unknown quantity but none of us actually know how the sequel really plays.
