Each to there own...
There's only ever been one near me at any one time, and each time I've played it has not taken more than £50 to get a top, usually a £35, granted, but then another top has usually reared up within the next £10.
The same as with FNC (on £35), never had a problem with that either, do you guys sack off all boards that are not 'showing'?

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
I sack off any board that offers £3 or less from the full 12 nudges, aswell as any board that gives Open Tomb below the £15 mark. If the tomb is open and I'm on the feature exchange point, I'll gamble the feature and hope for the Super Hold so I can sack it off without having the quid forced on me.Matt Vinyl wrote:The same as with FNC (on £35), never had a problem with that either, do you guys sack off all boards that are not 'showing'?
Has anyone had a top feature by getting the 3 Scarab symbols?

.
It means playing only for the jackpot/top feature, whilst refusing all other wins.
Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake. WC FIELDS (1880-1946)
I've taken two huge losses on SMTM this weekend, and a biggy on a Snakez too.
I managed to limit the first loss to a mere £45 but the second attempt was even more horrendous:
Hopper £14 away (non-refill machine with +6% on 50p stake) when I jumped on and the first three boards all start me off on 1 nudge, with no win available. The first board is ARB2, the second and third ARB1. I was naturally happy to see it doing this, and even happier when the 3rd of those boards let me gamble the feature and it landed on the only remaining blue feature. Next gamble won, so we're now looking at a completely red board - and the next gamble, going lower than a 10 to the next exchange (and a cheap top) lost.
Next board, ABB1. Hmm, that's odd I think. Approximately £40 later I finally get a nudge win of £15, which loses on the first gamble. A couple more losing gambles around the £10/£15 mark over the next couple of boards, and by this point I'm fairly convinced it'll go up within the next ten, maybe twenty quid or so and go for £70. Wrong!
The machine shuts up shop again and wouldn't even give me boards, let alone high wins; the boards now around £7 apart. At £90-odd in, it throws in a £25 nudge win and gambles up ... for a flat £35 top. Next board lots of red in evidence - ahh, it's there for two. Er, no. No nudge win over £3 and it goes quiet again. For a very, very long time. Frightening how quickly you can rid yourself of £20 on Mega Spins, isn't it?
After £165 in it starts to look interested again and £15 later, it goes up. Another £35 and this time it wants £8 to see the next, ABB1 board. Unreal.
£215 in and I'm starting to really worry. It eventually goes up after a period of Open Tomb rubbish and does £70, and keeps going ... for another £5. Argh! Convinced the word 'Yes' would mean a £105 top, and some sort of recovery, I get one of those odd-amount tops. I throw a few quid back in to see if anything is looking promising but have to settle for a £4 Golden Hold when it became evident that the machine had died again.
Approx. £230 in for a loss of around £80. This combined with a particularly nasty episode on the aforementioned Snakez, made for a dreadful weekend as everything else I approached had been burned.

shame
yeah thats a real big shame... i seriously need to learn the things to look for in these fruits... whats this about the ARB1/2? i dont know what that means... as ive hardly ever got the money for them.. i find myself clutching at 5 pound collects and always taking cash climbers and being happy with 10 pound wins etc...
say i have 15 pound coins in my pocket... snakes and ladders is there... do i walk towards it and put my money in... or do i turn around and change it into drink...
if the answer is yes, play it... then what should i be looking out for when trying to play...

Re: shame
Don't play it - you don't have enough backup to get anywhere near a decent result. You need at least £100 to have a comfortable chance of forcing out a red - and just lately they have got worse and cost the best part of £200 on occasion.Robaldo wrote:yeah thats a real big shame... i seriously need to learn the things to look for in these fruits... whats this about the ARB1/2? i dont know what that means... as ive hardly ever got the money for them.. i find myself clutching at 5 pound collects and always taking cash climbers and being happy with 10 pound wins etc...

(yes you might still win a top from your £15 but it is unlikely - generally they progress from £10 to £15 to £25 to £35 with losing gambles inbetween - and £15 credits on megaspins it is just so unlikely that you have enough winning spins)
All of the above can be ignored of course if the machine is "bonusing" LMFAO!
