I'm out of here
Well the time has come to bow out.
I’ve been spending far too much time gambling and being on this website only encourages that. Works really quiet at the moment and I spend hours on here amongst other websites. I just figured I’d bow out and focus on other things in my life from now on.
Good luck and I hope everyone continues to bleed the machines dry. Best of luck

All the best in your quest megastreaker!
Absolutely no offence meant, but this kind of post happens on here now and again and very rarely does the person who posts it carry it through.
Could you resist something that you know is pretty much guaranteed? I think there was another post relating to this kind of thing elsewhere.
Good luck and maybe the fruits be with you! Erm actually thats not appropriate is it!

Ha ha ha
Nothing is guaranteed in this life mate. Thanks anyway.
I managed to go 7 weeks before Christmas and its great not to have gambling on your mind all the time.
Also you need quite a bit of money to chase machines and I just don't have that or the time. Gotta move house soon and get a car so they need to take priority.
At least by posting here its public and will encourage me not to go back on my word.

I wholeheartedly concur with PMK on this one.
I wish you the very best of luck mega'r but I have, on occasion, said 'enough is enough' but when profit is 99% assured I wont walk away from a machine.
All I do now is regulate when I play using the following rules:
1) No playing when out with 'non-players'
2) DEFINATELY no playing when out with young ladies
3) Not going out specifically to play
Basically this just leaves playing in pubs with fellow 'playing' mates in order to pay for your beer / curry / cab / kebab....whatever.
So far I've stuck to this (it helps that I find playing machines a bit boring) and I find I have more time to do essential things AND I look forward to the times when I do play as they're generally social affairs with plenty of craic!
I have, in the past, been foolish enough to stop playing (or saying I will) completely but why stop doing something you occasionally enjoy which enables free nights out, a Rovers / Cluedo that's clearly ready may only be 15-20 profit but that's your evenings drinks.
When machines (eventually) become totally un-profitable and unreliable THEN is the time to give up totally....
...Sorry, I'm rambling, good luck Megastreaker!!

****** This is my original post on the subject, probably makes more sense than the rubbish I've written above!*******

It all depends why you stop playing. My resolution was to stop playing for the following reasons:
- While I'm still playing regularly and making enough to pay the bills I won't bother getting a job. This will mean that as time goes by my CV will have a bigger and bigger gap and the way things are going I'll make less and less.
- It's very anti-social because quite often the best times to play are times when you should otherwise be out doing other things (sometimes these overlap, for example, playing in pubs while out on a Fri / Sat night with non-playing mates or, even worse, a young lady- JUST DON'T DO IT).
- I get bored of playing GG's, Monops etc and the aggro from staff / other punters, the comments etc.
HOWEVER:
One of my good mates happens to be a player so we still go out for a few beers on selected 'quiet' nights and play the fruits to cover costs and hopefully make a few quid. This wont interrupt with work and I'd only be sitting at home anyway...it's basically a free night-out! (and you'd never turn down a free drink would you!)* I won't, however, go out specifically to play fruits (so no arcades, bingo halls etc.)
To summarise, if you're giving up because it's a habit that's costing you money then, I believe, you should go cold turkey and not play at all (like if you were giving up smoking). However if, like me, you're giving up because you need to prioritise other things in your life then there's no harm in trying that fruit that's clearly ready as long as it doesn't interfere with anything else.
Sorry if this is long-winded but it made sense to me!
*I admit that I did, originally, intend to give up playing completely but realised, very quickly, that not-playing a ready fruit for the sake of 'not-playing' is as good as throwing money away!

Thanks for the messages. Wasn't intending to offend anyone.
Best of luck everyone. I'm out (for now) lol. I need a holiday and other stuff and whilst I could win a bit towards this I lose my focus on whats important in life. Family friends and hapiness. Gambling comes way down the list. If it makes the list at all.
Cheers anyway
