anfield road wrote:Well got a £50 top on a sub zero as I started collecting the machine went off, the guy said that i was fiddling it and I wasnt anyway police come nicked me and me mate for fraud and theft.

Took £400 in coins off me C.I.D raided me house whilst i was in the cell (there for 24 hours) took me mam and das laptop seized me car and phone and then interviewed us about a refill key.

The key was from about a year ago which I got off me mate after we got a machine for free, anyway they think its being used to tamper with bandits and stuff.

I had to explain how to play a sub zero and rovers etc tell them were I had being and stuff like that.

Anyway after going out playing I have had everything take off me they are going to search this site I reckon as they think I am a fraudster and then me bail is for march the 4th.

Personally I dont think they have a case as i aint used the key and its not illegal to have one, but now I am kicked out of me house if I play a machine ever again and have me bank accounts seized and getting searched as part of the vharge is money laundering.

Its so unbelivable its untrue im just so fucked now after doing nothing wrong?.

24 hours in a cell for getting a top on a sub zero seems a bit harsh to me, maybe playing is nearly over then.
thats bad luck mate, think off this as a wake up call you got off very lightly. this is why i left the full time game 3 years go. this is also why i dont play in pubs. if you have about 25k hire yourself a barrister and take them to court.

Holy Moley! I guess none of us are Invincible, but Anfield, seriously, what have you been up to?

You just been going too heavy on all the local machines?

It seems like someone has had it right in for you. Wouldn't be surprised if you're on Crimewatch soon at this rate. Seriously, what have you done to get this heat on you? Surely blapping a few rickety win stoppers doesn't warrant CSI Merseyside?

From what you say, sounds like terrible luck.

Can't really see the police trawling through all the posts on this site for a petty crime, they are too lazy. You will just get a slap on the wrist unless they have some evidence of you tooling but even then you won't get serious punishment. Bang goes the playing career though. :(

This is a very unfortunate situation and may I express sorrow at your predicament, it's a terrible injustice.

Some on here may of thought me condescending when I have said that it's a bad idea to play full time, that's not the case, I was merely advising that it can't be sustained along with a normal life. If I would have been "in the know" at the age of 18 I would have surely took this route, however I got a job with clear progression and in the current climate (machine states/manufacturers) I'm so glad I did.

Anyway back to your situation, unfortunately today within the police force there is incompetence in large measures, they only understand process and are unable to look at things rationally. They just follow the flow chart in their head, this happened, now do this. This ridged mentality leads to jumping to conclusions when presented with a subject that they don't understand. The fact is that thousands of people up and down the country have been making a living from playing fruit machines for over 10 years. For people who do not play machines it is inconceivable that, through a small amount of game play, you can tell when the machine is going to pay, hence the quote we are all familiar with "the only winner is the man who owns the machine".

It is highly unlikely that any conviction will result from this. If they genuinely research the subject they won't even bother submitting a case to the CPS. There is no evidence to say that the coins were obtained through deception.

Tell them that you can show them how it's done/ that there is multiple evidence of such cheats being sold on eBay/ that there are sites with thousand of member that discuss methods/ signs of readiness/ ones to stay clear of.

Unfortunately, this does not change the situation with your parent's.

However, when nothing comes of this, when you get a job, when you hear stories in the future about the game truly drying up (we all know it is), you may look back on this incident as a huge blessing in disguise.

Good luck.

I find it all a bit hard to believe to be honest, that someone can get banged up for 24 hours for having a machine fuck up on them, and their house searched. No evidence was found at the time by the police at the scene, so I can't see how there could have been grounds for arrest and detention.

Bar staff are so poorly educated with regards to fruit machines, that they believe that anyone taking a fiver out of one must be up to no good. And who can blame them, with all the emptiers, playing methods and forcing profiles that are about? Even so, you shouldn't be able to get nicked, even if you have a refill key on you - it can't open the machine can it?

And any confusion and myths can be sorted out by speaking to the manufacturers. But the police obviously don't do this.

The whole thing still doesn't sit right though. Did you just stand there and wait for the police to turn up? Did they lock the place so you couldn't get out? Did the machine supplier come and check the machine?

There's a funny smell...

Must admit, i find it a bit hard to beleive too. Now i am not a full time player but if i was locked up for 24hrs for legitimately winning a £50 top, i would sue the arse off the police.

I was beginning to think I was the only one here thinking this. It just all sounds too far fetched for me. I imagine Anfield has been having a good laugh at all the replies he's reeled in.

Yeah, not sure myself, I agree that the police are rather ignorant when it comes to this sort of thing but I can't see them caring that much about a £50 top (although it could be said that chasing a SZ is 'criminal' in itself!)

P.S- PMK, I thought you were getting a new avatar....and I thought you were playing this afternoon, what happened?

Now stop wasting your time on here and do some work!
