Where to play?

Post by Fruiter »

Where do you guys think are the best locations to play, payout wise?

I currently only play in my local arcade, bowling alley, snooker club and every now and again the service stations.

It seems like most other people on here play in pubs, is there any kind of difference in gameplay between locations for the same machines?

I used to hit the pubs a lot in the days of temple of treasure, neptnes treasure, king kebab etc... But then stopped drinking and didn't like going in and buying a coke.

Anyway my reason for asking is that my local machines atm are absolute crap, in the bowling alley for instance there's a RTR, 4x DOND's, jewel in the crown and a pac-man.

I've forced them all from full on a few occasions but have never taken more than a double JP or £70 MS (which has usually cost me much more), is it me playing wrong or the locations i'm playing at?

Pubs

Post by jimbo111 »

Id def never play a machine anywhere except a pub these days..i maybe a sceptic but i think arcades are feeling the pinch of FOBTs ..why wouod anyone play 30p a shot to win £35 when they can win upto £500 for a quid...a friend of mine recently lost £300 in a day playing a £35 in a arcade and won the jp once during tat tie..the pubs well i think its a safer place to play puggies...could be totally wrong but IMHO id say pubs..

Pubs for me too. I've been in an arcade probaly 10 times over the last 3 years. Far too many players and sharks in them. Crappy %'s and hardly any Hi-techs anymore.

Arcades are usually awful, with mostly lotech machines and maybe a couple of high techs (actually usually zero high techs) that are constantly played out by regulars....

There is very little potential for profit here.

Services, years ago when there wasn't a million players were ok, these days they are mostly covered, aswell as poor percentages leads to poor potential for profit.

arcades are very heavily covered by local yokels in my experience....chain called teddys which operate up'north tend to get their hands on very modern hi-techs....part from that its just like vegas babay!!!!!

Beefeaters. Berni Inns. Harvesters. Toby Carverys. These are the places to be! Anywhere that is 80% restaurant/20% bar. Weekends are great - non-players who are waiting in the bar to be seated are dragged over to these 'big flashing light machines' by their kids, end up wasting a few quid away and by the end of Sunday night there're often profits to be had.

As I've said before, if you can find one in a very out of town location (Sussex and Surrey are flooded with 'em) which isn't too hard to reach, you'll be boosting your chances no end.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Well I tried a change this week, instead of popping down the arcade with £50, me and a mate went round the local spoons...

Stuck a few quid in a machine called Goldminer, can't remember the manufacturer and i've never seen it before, first board offered £8 so we knocked it back and went for the force, collected £35 after being in for about £10 and within another fiver we took another £35, £15 and a tenner.

Then onto Cluedo (i think that was the name), cash trial to RTR, £20 in and it gave top feature for £70 followed by £20 off the next few quid.

I think i'm gonna have to start on the pub runs again :D

I'm predominantly an arcade blooper pooper. However one thingymyjog I had met a mate for a game of blooper in a bleep. After playing the blooper my mate had to get back to bloopester, so I popped around the corner to the bloopbloop. A pub with a bleep or no bleep, a bloopers Bloop and an Inbloopable in there. Anyway, it was a £5 blap for a bap for £35. A £5 red Simon it up for a quick third for a middle green which credit broke for £24ish, disappointing, was hoping for a pinky £40+
Then it was onto the 'bloopable and within £5 it was there. Not a fantastic rundown, but I think it was summat like £60ish in for a £105 and bloop. I know I was best part of one bloopdred bloops up after. Then a fortnight, sorry bloopnight later in and not so hot and since then not so hot. Maybe a barman got too casual, but now keeps on bloop of the bloopers. It's always £5 for 2 first go we didn't want to see that, 1:1 Bloopers and bluer than blue Inbloopable. I might bloop in for a a bloop of bloop and a game of the bloop. I'll bloop you know how I blooped.

'till then - BLOOP!

Agreedypoos, sometime the bloops in a blup can be a states of readiness that a full up bloop can never be in a bloopcade.

There is a serious reason for the bloops. It's the same as Cockney Rhyming Slang. Originally used to foil the wrong ears from understanding the meaning of what is being spoken. People may find that kind of posting funny, but it is not meant to be. If you don't know what an InBloopable plays like or what to do if it's blooping or blooping down the bloop or all bloop bar bloop then you're probably not meant to know.

The Nudgeman stories are meant to be light entertainment. It's a bit like The Detectives with Robert Powell and Jasper Carrott. Silly, light hearted nonsense.

The 'Deal or no Deal' - no boxes type postings are meant to be funny. I can't guarantee you'll laugh as humour is such a diverse field, but it certainly provides a relief from all the 'I WILL KILL U' type postings that crop up.

Apologies if the bloop frequency was too high.

I enjoy your posts/rants. They're a bit different, a bit 'out-there', and probably influenced by the Monty Python lot. Between yourself and Degen this forum will be in line for a Perrier Award next year! :D

Lighten up ob, people take life way too seriously. :P
