Full Fruit Fever

Post by Nixxy »

Found this new Barcrest on my travels today:

It's basically a clone of MegaZone's upper board, only it plays a hundred times better. 30p/50p/Normal/Super/Mega Spins, with +6% on the 50p stake.

Entry to the top board is via a 1-8 trail, up into a nudge column (1-12 nudges), instead of MegaZone's reels and turbo gamble entry. The nudge awards are often quite generous, even when the machine isn't playing all that well.

Once on the board: its Feature Shots, Cash Shots, Bonuses, Three hearts for an Extra Life, and three Star symbols to enter the inner superboard. The shots seem to knockout the values in ascending order most of the time - and it ain't scared to throw the £20 shot in randomly too. Once in the inner superboard: it's cash amounts adding into a Cashpot meter; with more Feature/Cash shots, plus Super Shots knocking out the same set of prizes that MegaZone has, with MS being the top feature.

I was offered the £35+rpt shot after £25 in, which I recycled plus a bit more for a £35 MS (the logo went bright red), which also got thrown back in before a £65 MS came my way.

Not the worst machine you'll ever play, and a hell of a lot better than MegaZone ever was.

Gave this another crack today and realised I've got the machine name wrong; it's called Funky Fruit Fever.

Not a bad one either - lots of messing about and being killed with MS being the only prize left to award, it eventually let me have it after £55 in and it ran beautifully for £94.

Expect to see more of these in a town near you soon ...

Had one here a couple of month back
Found it quite dull tbh
Very similar to Fill Yer Fruits or whatever it was
£10+ boards are frequent

Still good result Nixxy
Find them ready and i suppose they are worth it
Had the £100 MS from FYF before

Agree that the gameplay is dull - once you've been round the board it all gets a bit 'samey'. Seems to me that you just have to plough on through the boredom and hope that the reason it's being an arse is that the MS is going to be sizeable.

I do find the similarity to MegaZone a bit of a distraction, but it definitely plays better.

fill ya fruits was pretty crap imo, often the mega streak was low even due to large costs....

I imagine this machine to be similar to this... of course you could get lucky and get the big MS, but it doesn't change the fact it's no doubt a poor machine.... all this insight and I haven't even played it.... magic eh... :P

I had a FYF here and found it to be pretty dire. Almost as bad as OTB.

Cash Attack still seems ok, took a small loss on one last week that went flat 3 times. Rechased the 4th and was £148 in before i got it for £95, rechased again for a £55 soonish after, followed by a death or glory 5 strikes for £16 to leave about £15 down. One of those things!

What does that feature do? :)

Number reel spins round and you need to hit 12/5 to total 17 for MS.
