Great Weekend!
Guys, I'm not convinced about this "the football is on, therefore someone will do their brains on the machine". Usually what happens is some lardy pie faced motor mouth uses the bandit as a leaning post for the night and no one bothers asking him to shift = zero play. The only reason you're winning is because Mr. Suited and booted cash on the hip lost a few bob at lunchtime.
If anyone does play it's only 50p of silver in when pie face goes to the bar.

£5-7 means nothing on new reds come on guys are you that stupid to think it still does, how easy is it to get to £8/10 on vortex even on one that's just done £70 - you think its still ready for a top then!!!

This time i take the feature to see what its offering and its giving
£3/£6 and £15
Take the £3 to keep it alive
Then it does me over for a £40 loss![]()

Though I must admit, I find that if a red offers a red feature when theres only 1 of them (unless its Golden hold) I do see that as a very +ve sign

Had a strange one on the same Vortex yesterday. Got my first board after about £6 in, and the bloody number strip had gone out of sync...
I bombed out around the 4-5 nudges mark, and there was only mixed sevens available. I was going to play off the last of my £10 I'd put in and accept it as a loss, but got on the board again when I had about £1.50 left. £10 was there (was on 12 nudges) so nudged that in and it spun me to a bonus number 3, with a skill bonus. Went for the no lose to guarantee the SS, which I knew would at least be my money back, as I was expecting a 2 which no-doubt would've gone to 1 based on how it was playing. But, the reel went out of sync again, and a twelve was visible in the window. I was about to collect SS, when I noticed that only the 'lower' button was flashing, as it does when you can't go higher, in other words, I was on a twelve! I pondered it for a bit, thinking about how these sometimes still kill you on any number when there's reel errors. Bugger it, I hit lower and it re-synced itself and I got the MS!!
Fair enough, it was a flat £35, and I had a kinda feeling that it would steal for a long time after 'tricking' it into giving me that!!
So effectively, I went lower than a 3, which gave me a 12, which I won on for the top!

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

Heh - good idea!
I've no idea how the number reels work on these reds, how can it 'know' what it's given you if it's fecked up? Very strange...
It sort of feels like the software 'adjusts' to what number is physically displayed, which of course, is impossible!

Had the same thing happen on an Invincible. Only mine wasn't going for the top just on nudges. I Didn't have a clue what number i was on, went higher and it dropped a 1 in but didn't kill me.
Then only the high button was flashing.

Before the number reel spins, the machine has decided what number it wants to land. It tells the controller on the motor to adjust the reel to display this choice. Now, physical things like this make errors now and again, so they have a feedback mechanism, so the controller can report what has actually spun in.
If an error occurs, the machine could have two choices.
1. Ignore it, and adjust it's internal number to reflect the error.
2. Adjust the reel again, and step to what it wants.
Number 2 would give rise to 'it's fixed' protests.

What you say Blackmogu makes perfect sense and is absolutely true, but if the computer has predetermined the next number before we even go hi or lo, why do we all bother going higher than a 3 or lower than a 10 and dying for the sixth time (average) trying to get from SS to MS, when we could do the opposite and save time and money? Because the machine would take the pi$$ and kill you anyway, wouldn't it?
