this is the speech which would have been delivered had apollo 11's return from the moon been unviable.
[quote="some yank"]
IN EVENT OF MOON DISASTER:
Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace.
These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know that there is no hope for their recovery. But they also know that there is hope for mankind in their sacrifice.
These two men are laying down their lives in mankind's most noble goal: the search for truth and understanding.
They will be mourned by their families and friends]

I don't really understand the question, but I'll go for Siegfried Sassoon, just cos I like his name.

It might be useless but I find that sort of thing interesting (i.e. guys with girl's names). I know a woman with the middle name Martin.
Anyway, Wilfred Owen?

What a fountain of useless info you are.
Unfortunately, I've exhausted my supply of WWI poets. Er.... I'll have a think.
EDIT: Robert Graves?
