I have noticed that on Red's newest machine, Snake & Ladders, the mega spins option is significantly slower than all of the perevious mega spin enabled Reds - I assume that this new leglislation is responsible.

" " D- £5 jackpot - 10p per go % controlled
Does this mean £5 JP machines will have a max stake of 10p now? Is S21 AWP or is this the Rio-cabbed stuff you get in arcades?

I havent heard anybody speak of the PURPOSE behind these changes; I'm guessing to slightly protect the punter? They think if people lose slowly they will lose less? I'm not sure about this. Is there legislation on the speed of each 'game' too, as mentioned above are the days of £10 in 5 seconds on a Red- Megaspins now gone?

Machines that pay more than £35 in any form should be confined to private establishments only. ie Bingo Halls, Casinos and Snooker/ Golf/Working Mans (Persons !) clubs. This greedy amoral government wants it's taxes though and doesn't care too much about gambling addiction. They will try taxing prostitution, cannabis and cocaine soon. After all they have let Afghanistan grow a huge stash of opium poppies this year.

That could be right actually - I meant to post the other day that for some reason, all the 25p/£5 machines in my local bowling alley have been changed to 10p/£5. Could be in preparation for this new legislation?

I suppose the kids will stop putting more of their pocket money in when they all go down to 10p as it'll be cheaper to play, places like Megabowl have their £5 machines set to 25p or even 30p a spin, the latter being more likely so the kids keep putting more pound coins in to get the full set of spins.

I actually saw a £200 clubber in an MOT waiting area once, some old Crystal machine I think! Didn't play it though.

Anyone else seen the fact that you can now transfer the bank into credits, without having to collect and put it back in.

Have i interpreted that right? was on the playersheaven site, exact wording is...

From 1st September 2007 any new machines that comply with the new Gaming rules, will operate slightly differently:- Inserting notes will work in the same way by deducting £2.00 to plays, but the remaining value will now add to the “BANK”. Any wins can now be banked, collected immediately OR transferred back into plays at £2.00 per time! The “BANK” can be collected at anytime, even if there are plays remaining.

I noticed that the multistake 10p/20p/30p £5JP Bling Bling (Red) disappeared from the bolwing alley, I assume that machine could never re-appear in that format, unless it was 2p/5p/10p, which is highly unlikely...

Overall, those of us who solely play AWPs in pubs / the odd arcade, will probably not see any changes that are overly significant in the way we play these things. IE - they'll still all be crap... ;)

I played a newly converted Rainbow Riches today, got the 3 rainbows very quickly. It spins round values - £50 to £500, and of course it gave me £50.
Didn't get a lot else, except loads of very near missed for big wins. Not too impressed but it takes a while longer to lose all your cash!

The new B3 machines are a disgrace, B3 Party Slots (Reel King), you put in a note in goes into the bank- it transfers all of it then the money into plays, your win goes into the bank; you can either transfer it all or collect it.

Also on the Astra ones you can select 25p -5 lines, 50p 10 lines or £1 20 lines. I thought it had to be fixed.

Went to Gala last night, had all their machines done but switched off bar three. Reel King B3, Little Devils B3 and Spectrum Deluxe. The Elvis B3 was turned off.

Cat C = 2 Party Games Wintime, 2 Rainbow Riches, 1 Reel King, and 1 Little Devils switched off. Why is this, when 3 others were on.

They also installed a Grand Golden Game, Red Hot X casino (£35), and Casino Monopoly (£35) and another 2 DOND casinos.

But anyway I am not playing these B3 machines anymore.
