Industry person open for questions.
revolution also are responsible such 'brilliant' games as the fantastic four
subbuteo nuts and the new updated and improved(ha ha!- the one with the gliche in it initially). The point I do accept is that it is difficult for anybody from the industry to be free from bias on the site and although I do not like any of the above games your graphics are good.

of course what makes a good machine to most people on this site is whether its possible to actually win money on it or not and the people contributing to this site is what is important. Entertainment value is more important to the general population. I would be interested in the league tables for plays of games within the industry. If revolution games are ever anywhere near the top Ill have to eat humble pie.

Same for me for MouseTrap.
It always seemed to be a game that appealed to thickos - thus increasing payouts. Its subgames were more fun and had more depth than Monopoly's. It didn't hit you with spoiler after spoiler (because due to the nature of the game, it didn't really need to).
Bring Back Mousetrap!

I am still about. I willnot comment on Mat and other games matters Toi pick up the point it does not need too much highlighting that games which give entertainment too the many will be the ones with most money in the cash box and so end up the so called Hit Games. As 30% is the general maximium payout it will leave 70% in that most important cash box. Positioning of games, in menus, is well reflected in the cash box return. Some companies, as one would expect do promote their own in house produced games. My own belief is that the terminal providers should not, NOT, develop their own games but to take the best of games offerred from the many developers. I think that it is rather foolish in designing a game in house knowing that it will be well publicised, well positioned even though it is a stinker. The vast majority of games appearing are judging by this site alone, stinkers.
I rest my case. Terminal suppliers stay away from games.

D.O.N.D. saved me a kickin...
Guys, just a hunch but I think gambling is all about chance. A fat bloke with tattoos on his head obviosly just got paid. He loaded my machine, (DOND) I walk in and i'm up £75 an hour later!
I enjoy my win and demand pork crunch! Next day I walk in my local, the bar maid I shouted at the night before; 'cause she has no pork scratchings' (a few jack dans later following my good luck, ((I can't remember any this)) forgets to tell me that the big bloke with the tattoos on his head from the night before, was knockin on the pub door from 11.00am. I'm now sitting in the corner. I clock him, he clocks me.... Now hes my mate. I do £30 on the machine in the bar and lose it all. Tattoo man steps up £2 in and does a ton!!!
Moral of the story....Thank god, that happend! Chav boys from the midlands had a go at my other half and her mates in the same boozer that night. Tattoo head pulled DOND off the wall and throws it onto two of the div's and legs it up the road after the only one that was standing!
Moral of the story? ...............Will enjoy the posts!

hello
I dont get what all this cloak and dagger stuff is about, who cares who we work for? All these people from the "inside" & "the industry" get of your high horse. Am sick of listening (sorry, Reading) posts from people who pretend that they cant say anything of any use to anybody because of what might "happen" to them. Get real people, you work for a machine company not MI5. The real reason non of the "insiders" say anything of any use is because they know NOTHING! the first they know about "bugs" MTRS and the like is when they log on in the morning and find they have to drive to the depot and collect 100 bits of metal and go and screw them to coin mechs. Or when they are issued with a tube of glue and told to go and squirt that in the back of all the 126DFX coin mechs. So come on people lighten up, anybody remember the phrase "innocent until proven guilty"? or freedom of speech? as long as I do my work, and do a good job of it then my boss is happy, I get a free car, loads of holidays, a good wage, tons of overtime (screwing metal bits, squirting glue & chipping) and if somebody from HR has a browse through my contract and points out that actually am not supposed to talk on here then maybe a might get my own cloak, but untill then ask me what you like
I WORK FOR LEISURE LINK
and am proud of it.

ok........erm no
I am proud of working for the largest machine company in the UK, I never said I was proud of my name. I dont see why I should need to give that out anyway? Its not common practice on any boards. the point i was making is that whoever started the board is either pretending to work "in the business" (chuckle @ "the business") or just comes on here after a few scoops handing out web based information. But either way its wrong.
And whoever was asking about software development if your still interested I can ACTUALY help with any information you need. and dont forget ITbox has just connected it's 10Kth machine online, making it the biggest server based gaming platform in europe.
IGG or IBN (Inspired Gaming Group / Inspired Broadcast Networks) are not tied to any game provider. if you can develope an decent game then there is no problem, they will licence it from you and send it to 10k terminals in a week.
but dont forget there are LOADS of noobies out there and every Java game house has converted there phone games and tried to get them on ITbox, so be different.
Also with 10K+ terminals in the UK somebody needs to start developing games that you play against real people over the network, I would chuck in £10 and play a few games of Poker with real people no problem!

people working for game developers will have very good reason for keeping their identities quiet. If someone in the industry was found by their employers to be happily engaging in a question and answer thread with players they'd be in a lot of bother.
that said, I'm not convinced we're dealing with a top line programmer or designer here. more like a disgruntled code monkey or tester is my guess. lot of it about I hear

yeah
Yes I think your right, but I still dont think its that bad to be involved in Q/A's though after all
1: most game design houses in use have under 10 employees
and
2: if your a top line programmer or designer you dont really need to be worrying about your job.
the reason the whole industry is always getting a slating is because of this cloak and dagger attitude!
