Just had the easiest game yet on a gamesnet. Got to the endgame on my second 50p with very easy questions. Then it offered me £4.50! I was confused as I've never seen it offer anything like that before, but regained composure and accepted it. The cards were £1.50, £4 and £9. Still think I did write to accept the offer though. 8)

Similar thing with me... got to the end game on my 2nd bash, and managed to lite up a lot of high value properties - not that that makes any difference I'm sure.

Anyway, I dinghied the offer of £2.50, and won a cool fiver - the other prizes on offer being £4.50 and £5.50.

You see folks? Dreams CAN happen.

Just back from a couple of days where i had chance for a brief dabble around Broad St, Birmingham and despite there generally being easy pickings around, the high score inj the Spoons on this was 16,***

Played this the other nite, tareget was 5250. Got to 4900 or so before ballsing up. Cashpot was at £2.50. the pipes game was easy- its the same as a mini game in '24' on my mobile phone. I don't lik ethe way the machine basically rolls the number it wants to give you. there should be an element of skill or a choice of a few dice rolls.

i often find myself crapping out on the question (spoiler) which is for the threshhold.
it is very clever if this is a deliberate stratagem.

Likewise. I think it probably is deliberate to throw in a stinker unless it's really keen to pay. That 16xxx score spotted by NM really is extraordinary. All I can think of is that I've had one or two games with a low-ish target and consistently gettable questions all the way to that target. Maybe when the game's in that kind of mood it keeps giving gettable stuff until whenever, so that a good player really could eke out a game as long as they wanted. Or maybe one of the real boys happened by that machine. ;-)

Wouldnt it put that person in the end game when they reach the target? (ie not able to 'play on for score') thus the target must have been massively high?

Oak - I think that you have to press the endgame button to enter the endgame, otherwise you carry on. Not sure as I've always pressed it, thus don't know what happens if you don't press it. I've never seen a target outside the 4,000 to 6,500 range.

You can play on presumably the reason for doing so is to make sure you have amassed as many of the high value properties as possible before entering the end game. That said, I am sure that this would make sod all difference to the final prize.

I definitely agree with some previous correspondents that the IT box is tighter on pay out for this. Have now lost count of the number of 50ps.

The other thing that has struck me is this really is getting a lot of play. One of the nice things about having a 50 person leaderboard is that you get a feel for its popularity, how frequently its played etc. Many of the Cashpots are up round a more healthy £9, £10ish .

Had a right pain on this yesterday, fair-do's it only cost me 50 pennies, but... Set a target of 5400, I got to 5300 and bombed out on some obscure question on a property that would've pushed me over the target. Grr...
Had most of the properties too if I wasn't mistaken. Fluffed the pipe game, but I was almost 100% sure that the type of the first tile made it impossible to complete anyway?
Another Grr...

has anyone had a proper win out of the shitbox monopoly game? i took offers of £2.50 and £4 from the two boxes in the spoons on whitehall yesterday which is by far the best i've had from itbox. £4 on ind:e seems about par.
nobody ever wins on those things.

Played this last night, first few goes the target was around the 5000, and 5250 mark. As soon as I was within a gnats fart of getting to the endgame, it was spoiler after spoiler.

Next couple of goes and the target went to 4000, and I thought I must be in here, but again the spoiler block hit hard again.

Couple of quid more, and the target was 6000 every time, but it felt like the game was trying to help me get to the score. Anyware close to the target resulted in the spoiler blocks. Also it only offered me a 50p to continue if it knew I was no where near to getting through.

Next game, 5250 target.
I was getting close to the target, and I got the pipe game. I definately joined it up start to finish, but it would not have it, and I timmed out with no points :?
Some inspired guessing about dates, and which was the most westerly region of Africa saw me through to the endgame

Having 2 try agains and 2 passes left, I pushed on, as I thought that I was safe to continue.

WRONG :(

Time for some income tax, and repair bills to my Hotels.

I fought back using all my try agains, and passes and went for the prize game.

Choose card or £7 was the offer...

£7 was mine, and the other cards were something like £2 £4 £5

Profit at last!

To top that, I stuck the £7 into the Let it Roll fruit machine next to it, to make £25. Not big winnings, but it paid for my pint and a large donner keebab!

i'm a believer in giving credit where credit is due.

the new monopoly is very good and has been well-designed in terms of graphics, gameplay and prize structure (my opinions are largely based on the ind:e release as i don't play itbox very much at all).

so well done all those who were involved.
