Ah, but that would all need to be set up anyway, specular or no. ;)

I've not seen it myself, what do you reckon it is? What have they squeezed out of those crappy Rage 128s? ;)

For any form of lighting to work yes, which was my point. Not just a simple one step process :) None of those are NECESSARY for a game like this if you don't want lighting.

Anyway... looks to be a pre rendered texture effect. Looks more than good enough to me, especially for a shitbox, i agree there! :P

Pah, cheats! Come on, when it comes to coding, it's not what you do, it's how you do it, and how pointlessly convoluted and clever a method you used! ;)

Agreed! I'm not going to 'Specular-ate' on how this became a coding thread... ;)
the wee bonus games
Are there others that involve liquids then?

I've yet to see this mind, but will be out and about tonight, so am sure that it will come into contact with a couple of my 50p's... ;) Sounds interesting! That's what I quite liked about the original Monopoly - the sub 'games', such as the scratch card / 'Go' etc. I know they were all as fixed as fiddlery, but it added another angle to the standard 'answer a question, progress up a points line' affair. :)

:D

Has anyone landed on Free Parking yet? That's the only bonus game it never offered.

Free paking is not a game as such, it is a bonus where it whizzes you round a lap of the board collecting each property that you alight on and accumulating its points value. Typically gives you north of 1000 points which obviously takes you someway towards the target.

Hey, we didn't start talking about the 3D engine and the "amateurish faux-sheen"... ;)

I enjoyed the game at least it seemed to last a fair while. Landing on free-parking was a big help. Got to the endgame and won £1 which was annoying as I'd missed out on £9 and £5.50 :? Nothing much else on the new edition sadly, that greyhound game is gash.

I like the greyhound game. Highly exciting.

I like the new monopoly too but didnt get anywhere near the end game. Had 4 passes on one game and used them all up on the same space. And still got the question wrong!

Is 6000 points for the endgame the norm, cos thats what I kept getting offered? Seemed a bit tricky

Managed a pop at this on Friday. I was set 5790 (ish) for the target. Made it to 4600 before being pooped off. The water pipe game was a sinch - conenct them from one side to the other in the alloted time - no worries if there's un-joined bits, so long as there is one clear route from start to finish. ;)

As per, I didn't read any of the instructions - what actually happens if you complete a set of cards? I had two of the three green set and the same for the yellows, but it kept missing the last one of either set - I assume that is because I would've been awarded a prize that it didn't want to offer me?

Impressed with the smoothness of the graphics too (although I don't want to be a thread-diverter again! ;) ) considering the Bully on this particular box chugged slower than a Lada in treacle... :)

When you complete a set you get a hotel on each property and higher scores if you land on properties in that set again, which helps you to reach the endgame quicker. But you don't get a prize there and then. Unless it's the stations, when you get the cashpot prize. One thing I don't like is the hotel repairs chance / community chest card. Can imagine that could be used to very nasty effect by the game if it wanted.

It can and it does! Can't remember exactly how much I lost, but it was certainly more than a 1,000.

I forgot to mention that I won the (£1) cashpot on my game - however, in all the time I played it, it never rose by so much as a brass farthing.

I'm liking this one, purely due to the fact I won a £2 spot prize on my first go. Managed to get to the end game once, but spoilers kicked in. How do you win cash on the end game? I had a few hotels but not sure how, if at all, that converts to cold hard cash.
