Quite rightly said mate. I do like the occasional quizo like i said before. I know alot about awp but im calming down big style now as i dont seem to be winning anymore and its not worth the risk.

I dont have the right machines around me at the moment so il just leave it till i get my eye on something worth watching.

Have you had many jackpots? The most ive had is £6 off chart challenge music quiz.

Er ... one or two!

I've probably Jackpotted all the games where I believe it to be feasible but you are actually ahead of me on that one (Chart Challenge Music Quiz, if that's the game that's basically a clone of Golden Boot and Bling Bling), as I've never taken anything out of that one on the few times I've played it.

Full respect to SWP ( "pro/good" ) players, they are way more skillful than the current batch of AWP's thats for sure.... if I had a pot on a SWP I would be proud lol!

Nearest I have got to the JP is DOND; had £2 and £20 left and my mate swapped which I was against, and it gave £2 - what I wonder is whether it would have given the £2 either way....

OH I forgot 1 screen away from £40 on strike it rich aswell, fucking shitty hitler's dogs name was the question, 50/50 guessed it and was wrong... still got £20 so wasnt that bad....

not very up on my quiz machines, played one years ago.... something to do with john virgo where if you answered the question right he potted the trick shot, and it paid out in vouchers/tickets that you stuck on a card for a beer [about 92/93ish] god i was young then, also liked the top of the pops one where the end game asked 70s 80s or 90s. made afew quid on that one.

I thought I'd seen everything, and can certainly remember when fruit machines had to pay out tokens not cash for the larger prizes, but can anyone else remember what Eddie is describing?

No; there are a fair few Mr Qs in London although they are all pretty horrible.

Mr Q's was orignally a pool-based themed pub branding created by Allied Breweries in the mid 1980s. The pubs were aimed at the 18-30 year old chav market. Each pub would have numerous pool tables and other amusement machines. They were pretty good for quiz machines.

The branding continues today operated by one of Allied's sucessors the Spirit group, with the main emphasis now more on live sport. Regarding quiz machines they now seem to have some sort of exclusive deal with Gamesnet as that is the only SWP that seems to appear at Mr Q's.

Well this was attempted today. 24 machines in 7.5 hours. £36 in winnings at the end of the day.

Main games were DOND and ITBox Soccer, with some small wins from Pub Quiz and Every Loser Wins.

Continually scoring highly, but no cash in sight. We used to be able to clear £40 from 6 machines, but those days appear looooong gone.

Still fun though.

As Moaner-in-Chief I have been trying to warn you guys about this trend for some time. In simple terms, when so few games offer any decent reward whatsoever to the 'amateur' player, they will tend to get disillusioned and stop playing, hence the machines are taking much less money than they might do and hence they have much less to pay out to more serious/regular players.

Ironically this has manifested itself most clearly in the virtual removal of what was once my biggest annoyance, namely having to wait for some punters to finish playing "my" machine. This happens rarely nowadays, and when it does the wait tends to be a lot shorter than it used to be. I always realised the odd relationship I had with punters, namely that I wanted them to play the machines constantly, just not when I was there, but now I'd welcome them back if it meant that even a few games were worth playing on any cabinet.

I wouldn't pay much notice to Nil Satis' observations lads. You're just not very good.

You cannot question the logic of Nil Satis (even if he does support Everton).

Not having to wait to play machines as often as you used to = fewer people playing them (or the same number playing for less time) = less money going in them = less money to come out

You could add in the factor that smaller wins are more achievable and are then recycled, but then the equation starts getting complicated.

Are you honestly trying to tell us all that you are winning as much as you were say 3 or more years ago?

Er, just to go back to the original topic - where did you go Vidmar?
Was it city centre and down sauchiehall street or did you venture to the west end?
It's just that I'm heading out now and need to know where the money is
As nil and qm will know only too well i used to be able to clear a couple of hundred quid a day but since the death of foxy i reckon making £20 is an achievement these days.

I don't question the logic, just his sample size.

I spend a lot of my time waiting for people to come off machines. More than I used to. But I play every day in different areas so notice these things.
