ok after your rave reviews I have to say I'm extremely dissapointed with this machine on the 1st attempt...

Full ( cash ), not red x'ing but climbs to £15 for £15 in, thinking I should be fine..... no... £100 to do red x's, a further £40 for a top £25, then £25 more for another £50 top, then dead....

Not gonna judge the machine of just this one experience, but it does show you the flip side... which of course when it comes to reds, it seems most on here never speak off, and you only ever hear £75 this £75 that £75 the other!

Sorry to hear that ob - what a bastard!

I do assume you were playing 50p spins (as if there's any other way on these!). Just a bad bashing unfortunately, i took a rollicking off a pulsation last week too (see that thread :x).

I'm sure you won't get turned over that badly again, and you'll soon be a fully fledged member of the CCP fan club like everyone else! :D

yeh 50p mega spins - although I was thinking maybe the safe cash wins were somewhat at fault for it costing £100 for reds??

this was in a train station to be fair, so it is a shit percentage and generally forced alot I imagine, hopefully my next will be nicer :)

Yeah deffo - Train stations are usually bad. That said when i was last up in York there was a CCP (first time i'd seen it) which did £25, £25 after about £30 in. Every top i've had on the CCP here has been £50 though, and i tend to find that for a small outlay i can usually pot it with recycling the safe cash i get thrown at me. The most it's cost in 5 forces is about £20! That said there's been virtually zero afterplay on all 5 of those £50s :x I normally just get a board, nudge nothing in to spin in ATM, and clear up any residual value that way.....seems to be the best way to get a quick £5-£10 more from it.

I've seen two of these turned off today, they do seem to give plenty of cash safes and then a top.... would be sweet if they were free.

I only hear of people WINNING from Red's on here , most of the time. no huge losses.

Common people lets be having the truth, you all lost more than your letting on surely ??

Reds are the cleverish machines when it comes to sucking you in.

£50-£100 losses should be common every now and again.

That should get you replying.

Now I'm not going to say I've never lost on a Red, I did quite a lot when they first came about, but I've 'not' had a bad day overall in the last year or so from sticking to the Reds and then playing a few other manus' machines casually. It's been said time and time again, but discipline is absolutely key in staying in the black over a day of play.

In my experience, £75s are fairly common. Last weekend, I played three OARs and ended up well over £100 up. However, in that I'd spent the odd £5 / £10 here and there trying various other machines, such as a Pulsation that wasn't playing ball, a JG that took £5 for a board, so took a green feature and left (£2 down is not at all terrible!).

I know that there's a hell of a lot of luck in having good spells on any machines, but for me, personally, the sheer number of them around mean that I'm going to get a good return from at least 30%-40% of them, even if I play another 5 or 6 that aren't going to go and I lose £30-£40 there, I'll still be up for the day.

Again, the fact that I play only once or twice a week tops also helps, as I'm giving the machines a chance to recoup - I've only ever bumped into one other 'regular' who, since seeing me pummle a GADD for £100 said he wasn't going to show up there again, and he genuinely hasn't! ;)

Stay out of arcades, I used to have bad experiences on Reds in there, constantly sharked, hardcore nutters playing 2+ machines at once, watching your every move. I've had the best results from being a straightforward pub-player, and I'm still loving it.

One thing that does pain me, is that I have a few mates who play every so often, and I'll meet them in a pub and they'll be playing a Red and be £60+ into it, and say 'I'm going for the top like you do!' I then feel bad, because I probably would've left it after £5 or £10 of that £60 in.+ :( I'll always try the best to help 'em get as much of their cash back as possible, from Red features or when the signs show up, but invariably they end up down, because they shouldn't have played it in the first place! :( (A few of my friends just won't listen when I say to stop! :)

:)

I'm sure nearly everyone on here has lost £50-£100 odd on a red before....like i said it can go wrong. Barring that horrible pulsation last week, i haven't lost a shedload on a red in ages. Sure you lose a few quid every now and then, but people (me included) can't be arsed to type up if they lose say £6 on a red. I always post on here when things don't go well though, just 'cos i feel like i have to tell people :P There aren't too many of those posts on here from me, as it doesn't happen that often thankfully.

I think you will find people do post about being 'done' by a red
People lose heavily on them from playing them out at the wrong point
When they are genuinely 'ready' you will find that out of say 10 you will always be up

You may lose £10 here and there and one may do you for £30
That is recovered by the next one
I have loads of reds here and can honestly say that yes i do lose from time to time on them
When its a loss of more than £10 i post it
Earlier in this thread i said i lost £20 on the first CCP i played and that was 'ready'
A key is essential as well
Find one full when you know its not been refilled and you should be fine forcing it out
Knowing how they streak helps too
Sometimes there may be another top there others not

Get to know them and the good days should out weigh the bad
Discipline is essential on reds and if you dont have it then you should not play them

yeh the thing is with reds, all this "sign's" stuff is all well and good, but what "sign" is actually worth anything really?

Red showing? or Number-runner on the bonus/ going to £10/15? ( former being the only sign actually thats 100% )...

ok given this, and also given most pubs refill every day ( especially spoons ), I'd say about 10% are showing this to start....

ok so it's refill and not reds/offering NR, what do you do.... go for it and risk a doing? If not, your only ever going to play 10% of reds you find.

If theres any sort of life in them and you are brave then take them on. You will lose 40 at the max but could well make 40.

This is not my approach, but is a method which can be very profitable. (Or make you skint  )

Just keep to the normal signs, this is the best and only way.
