If you go, make sure to take pics of the new machines to share with everyone :)

Ooh, cool, not too far from me - I'm going to apply now, hopefully will get through and will see some of you guys there! I'll bring a £50 so I can have at least one pint! ;)

Good man! :D

I only applied today, but you can take your confirmation anyway if they dont send a pass. What day are you thinking of heading down Matt? Hopefully we can cross paths (and expensive beers) along the way! 8)

I think the old 'smart casual' approach is preferable Matt, so I'd personally go for the latter. Anything more or less grabs too much unwanted attention (or maybe it's just me lol), especially on trade-only days. I cannot get any more Exhibitor's passes sorry, but hey: more free girls/food/beer for me 8) .

I was hoping some of you guys filing new registrations at Companies House might have come up with amusing names/company names/job titles - then you might be easier to spot!

If you're a casino goer (or even if you're not) visit the ICE side of things. OK rows of video 5-reelers but more than made up for by a multitude of very pretty females  and some serious industry clout. My only fear this year is that it may be too dominant as it has taken over more ground floor space, forcing the smaller ATE exhibitors upstairs - although this will hopefully be better than last year when it was a crap backwater.

I am there from Tuesday mid-morning till Thursday early afternoon if anyone wants a stupidly overpriced pint (bear in mind I'm from oop North so this means anything over £1.30). Local pubs are cheaper, so long as you don't mind Aussies!

I'm there Wednesday and Thursday. My first one so I'm really looking forward to it.

This looks very interesting indeed. How do you go about applying? fake company names etc etc?

Yeah, the online application form just accepts whatever you tell it :)

so you apply online and then they automatically send you tickets/passes through the post? Is it a strictly no pass no entry event?

Haven't read through this year's rules Alex so I can only summarise on past years as follows:-

1. First day is trade only - which in reality means pre-registered passes only: no sales 'at the door'.

2. Subsequent days 'free for all' - pre-registered passes allow you to jump the queues and walk straight in. All others: join the queues and prepare for a wait US Immigration style lol.

Actually, I've never had any trouble looking like a complete scruffbag. No-one's ever challenged me, but if they do I can truthfully claim to be a games programmer. ;)
