the new one is tripe! only a medium earner at best, only been able to make about £20 on a semi-ready machine. dead machines arent even worth going on.

works on all extremes, so there are plenty of hits about

I beg to differ, £35-40 on a buzzed machine - they peak and trough, it's about coming off in the troughs. You need to utilise nudges on the board before you collect. They can also throw in a freeboard (top feature) but it's very, very, very rare: I've only seen it once and only heard a couple of others getting it.

I've heard of people getting nicked, but getting released shortly after - it's not in the same league as rodding obviously, but the precise legalilties are a bit of a grey area.

Well i've paid for this and made more than my money back so i'm not bothered. but it's definitely getting harder to do. If u know how to do it you'll know what I mean.

I've never lost on one yet though just not won that much on a few.

And it's not illegal is it? Could do with knowing...!

Strikes me as being a pretty poor effort to be honest, pubs that don't understand the purpose or legality of using a key are liable to react in any number of ways, from banning you to actually informing the police.

Bear in mind that whilst a key is (strictly speaking) legal to use for normal purposes, if it is used to sway the advantage in your direction it will probably be viewed as fraud.

As it's only good for £20-£30 per m/c at best (and even less if it's already been done), I don't think I'll be doing it any time soon. Getting barred, achieving a bad reputation and possible police involvement for £20? No thanks, not that desperate!

Yeah but in this case it's not just using the key for info, its actually changing the behaviour of the machine, which surely can't be legal.

Having said that, if it was an empty rather than a small earner I'd probably be hammering them!
