PLEASE PLEASE BLOODY HELP

Post by johnagall »

This is absolutly racking my brains.

does anybody remember a MAYGAY mc that had a theme of a 'haunted carry on film' (saying this because i'm sure ther is a characcateur of Kenneth Williams) it was about 2002 ish, fairly similar to Italian Job 2 and Just the Ticket etc?

This is really pissing me off now

Any of you experts help me out?

cheers

Yep, Carry On Screaming. It was poop!

I remember there being a 10p/£5 one at a holiday resort I stayed at. Every single board gave +1 feature then '?' for Game Over. It NEVER deviated from that sequence!

Maygay were / are a funny company. They've never really released any blinders, (Bank Raid may be an exception!) and some of their older stuff was just unplayable!

The Great Escape was their finest hour! ;)

'Look out, it's the goons!'

Not at all, that is a top site for the emulation world!

I think the problem with Maygay is / was is that they didn't / havent keep / kept up with the times. Their machines still 'look' like something from the early nineties...

Heh, no, I agree that they've had some good releases like you mention. But during that period, I prefered my JPM's! ;)

Agree that the list you've given were indeed good games!

Are you joking??? X marks the spot is the biggest pile of tosh I have ever played (or the £5 jp is anyway).

I was meaning to ask about this - I was going to start a new thread but i might as well post it in here.

This machien is in the place where my band practice. 99/100 times I will lose on it - it will give a board but offer no chance to collect anything before killing you. Then it can go stone dead and take 3 or 4 quid for another board (bearing in mind JP is only a fiver).

Anyway the other day I had only a quid on me. Doubled it to two on the machine next to it, and decided I might as well stick it in XMTS. So anyway it gets me on the board using the method where you get three chests below the winline, and it tells you to 'hold all three'.

But the big difference was that when I was on the board, the number reel was constantly spinning, and when you hit start it stopped on a number. I checked to see if cancel would slow it down and it didn't. Now for a change, it actually offered some cash and features and I bottled it (knowing what a bastard this thing can can be), and I took a feature for three quid. But the minute I'd done it, I was kicking myself - surely this must be some sort of IM or something???? In particular the constantly rotating wheel, plus the completely different gameplay. Can anyone confirm this???

Matt dont mention JPM's I might start to get nostalgic and cry :)

Sorry Rocket I dont really play £5 JP's but have heard they can take more then a regular AWP before they offer the JP so whats the point.

Bit off topic but I was speaking to the manager of my local arcade and he has had to change some of the decals of his machine because he is not allowed 10p play £8 JP. Apparently it is ilegal ?? Weird

yes - like an IM you can choose you every number each time therfore getting JP or £4 at the top  All the chests have to be the same colour for this.

It sounds like it was the IM - are you sure the cancel button wasn't just busted? The light behind the number reel should've been flashing as it span. I don't remember it being too hard to hit the number you wanted - you just had to remember not to go beyond the JP up to the top feature as it would usually pay much less.

Anyone who never had the misfortune to play this machine may find that last comment a bit odd - but it demonstrates exactly how shit this machine really was - the top feature could pay £2 and kill you.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Yes the 3 same coloured chests is like an IM,
surely they had disconnected the slow down cancel
button..... How sad is that 4 a fiver, or can b a £2 top like
nixxy said.
