Indy Cars by BWB....reset??

Hi all, new to site and trying to help out a friend.

He was given an Indy Cars machine about 12 months ago and it was working perfectly at the time.

He's had it laid up in his garage since then, though, and he turned it on again the other day to find it has a 'reset' problem.

When he powers it up it lights up as it should do, then flashes 'reset' and switches off again.

Anyone any idea what could cause this and, if possible, how do we go about resetting it.
