Is there a doctor in the house?

Post by Ruler of The World »

The past couple of weeks have been awful, I constantly have headaches, the type that don't just go away, paracetamol eases it temporarily but it comes back without fail. Also have trouble sleeping and take pills for that too. It is definitely stress related, having a lot of trouble earning at the moment.

Have tried to put a brave face on and posted on here more but it doesn't pay the bills, unfortunately.

Find it a struggle waking up and venturing out into the cold in the mornings, I really love to be curled up nice and warm in bed and think what the point is in going out!

Not currently suicidal but can see the possibility of a mistaken overdose like that actor who played a gay boy, forgot his name.

Sounds like you need prozac! Ibuprofen is better for headaches than paracetamol!

This is how deep depression sets in. Be very careful. Forcing yourself to get up and about every day at least reinforces your circadian rhythm, and getting up at the crack of dawn with a healthy breakfast does usually make everyone feel better if they force themselves to do it. Having said that its 12:30 and I'm still in bed. Over the years I've had many periods of deep depression where I haven't left the house for months. It can destroy you, don't let it. Sleep with the curtains drawn and get up early. Take small steps. Resign from the activities that harm you.

i feel for ya mog , it is indeed a struggle

which leads me to a question for everyone

i was talking to a player the other day , who reckons he doesn't play anymore , he said he grinds out a set small amount on low stakes online poker ?

hmm ? he said only very small amounts , just in tournaments with other players etc

now , i have a home card school , once or twice a year , usually 3card brag , ,,,,,,,, and ive lost as much as ive won lol

the question is , with the current machine state of play as it is ,,,,,,,,, do any of you think that you have the skills to play texas tourny online ***as a full time job*** ????

i mean we have all heard of players that have supposedly gave up fruits for poker ,,,,,,,,, but surely they cant all be winning consistently ?

im sure there are advantages to the lifestyle , ,,,,, the main one being your at home with your home comforts , and not got to go out and brave the elements , plus no fire or threats from other players etc

but (and im guessing here) ,,,,,,,,,, surely there's no edge ,,?,,,,,,, or is there ,?,,,,,,,, afterall whenever i glimpse 5 minutes of the television shows , its all the familiar faces . ,,,,,,, mind you , these people are experts at reading eachothers human tells and mannerism's etc ,,,,,,,,,,, that's not possible online

i suppose if there is an edge online , its in the players tenacity to go balls deep with risks etc and essentially try to buy each pot ,,,,,,,,,, but the saying is '' balls will get you so far , then they'll get you killed lol''

im finding with my pt time work hours dwindling ,,,4 this week, lol ,,,,, whats the point , may as well sign on lol , and slotting only say two days a week in the current shitty climate (and with no car licence till june) ,,,,,,,, ive got an awful lot of time on my hands .

look no need for the violins , im getting by nicely , have fingers in many pies with the mrs running loads of facebook buying and selling groups and ebay etc ,, plus we have savings still ,,,,,,,,, but on a day im sat at home doing nowt , it would be nice if i could play low stakes in my spare time , ,,,,,, 30 quid a day for a few hours is not asking too much is it ???? ,,,,,,,, or is it ? ,,,,,, im a complete cluey lol ,,,,,,, wouldn't even know where to start , or which is the best site or anything ?

so thoughts please ,,,,,,,, and who are the successful poker players among you ? ,,,,,,,,,, and if your that good , why do you still go out slotting etc?

is it viable

One reason i'm glad I work is that it gets me out of bed, and interacting with people.
To be successful as a player you sacrifice certain things, for example you tend to operate alone in order to maximise your profits. Also as the money flows in you find yourself dedicating an increasing amount of time to this pursuit and withdraw from the social scene.
Another reason i'm glad I work is because if I didn't i'd be forced to start playing again in order to make ends meet, a thought that frankly horrifies me, as I feel detatched from it all now, and don't wish to compete with delinquents and players who constantly lie about where they have been.

Life has become a tad dull though, no peaks or troughs, just stress free existence. Certainly not depressing, depression leaves you unable to even move or speak at times.

As for Texas Hold Em poker my general feeling is that it is essentially a game a of luck dressed up and marketed as a game of skill, to fool people of limited intelligence into believing they are good players when they call an all-in re-raise with AQ, run into pocket kings only to hit one of their 3 outs. You need an immense amount of discipline and patience thats for sure.

Why has my thread about I'll health, no motivation, cold weather, etc. turned into a poker discussion thread?

The headache just won't go away - rather like the wife.

How hard or easy is it to fake your own death? Would seriously help if I could manage that in my case, all I would need to do is relocate.

Faking a death is easy. The correct question is "how would I become a new legally recognised person upon faking my death" which you would inevitably need to do if you wished to exist in any meaningful capacity.
"If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

I think there are plenty of options when it comes to faking your own death. However, as you recently noted....the police have your DNA, which would force you to move to a country significantly less developed than our own or risk the whole thing going tits up in a few years time. Maybe South America? Their economy looks good globally, plenty of room for expansion; and you probably won't have a problem forging the necessary documents to become a resident. Maybe you could set yourself up as a drug baron in Colombia?

Hatred of women? I only hate the wife! Wouldn't do drug baron-ing... I do have contacts in Costa Rica, could also hook up with a guy from Chile...hmmmmmm.... Well I guess I could just go missing, presumed dead?
