Sure sure sure. I was getting at how hard it is to be debt free if you're just buying a house in this day and age. Sure 30K per annum will get you a mortgage but I was meaning buy a house outright. I was just having a grouch at property prices.
Incidentally 68K was quoted from another post it's not indicative of taxable/non taxable income that I make.
I guess the point I'm making is that part time, this year I'll make around £20,000 non taxable income from certain forms of gaming that may well be discussed within this forum.
In 1995, £20,000/annum would have been easily obtainable by good players.
The ratio of expected annual fruit device related earnings:property prices has dwindled annoyingly over the past decade due to the surge in house prices. I was just having a little grizzly grumble about that. Only light hearted.
I'll check out the house prices in Scotland C®, I've never been up there in my life. I tried to get time off for the Edinburgh Fringe festival this year but to no avail. 68K for a whole house in a not too scabby area? Surely not? I don't believe it!!!! Where's that wotsit triangle again?

Yeah I mean on one hand I have people telling me Scotland is a beautiful country full of culture and full of lovely people, Also there's lots of space and I love space (I feel claustrophobic in places like London).
However we have this stereotype of mad crackheads and crazed violent feral ASBO junkie culture, bizarre heart attack inducing food, crazy unintelligible accents and cold, so very cold.
I'd have to be sure I wasn't going to die, so apathy kicks in and I'll stay here for now. More then enough drugs problems here thankyou.

Hmmm. Fair assessment. There are parts of Scotland like a war-zone, just like in England. There is a lot of heart-attack food, although no-ones forcing you to eat it! I don't want to see Scotland separate from the UK, but at the same time, the fact that we have our own parliament means we can do things different from Westminster, e.g free care for the elderly, smoking ban and free eye tests.
The scenery really is second-to-none. The people friendly, and I live here.
What more could you want? (except beautiful women, decent football and a choice of lagers that isn't McEwans or Tennents).
