These are pubs for goodness sake! If I'm in a pub then I must have beer, it's enshrined in law somewhere. Hopefully.

Will somebody please enlighten me as to how/why this Magners phenomenon has taken off? There're two people I drink with who won't drink anything else - they can't explain why - yet it really hikes up the price of a round.

£3.29 a bottle seems to be the norm for this stuff. What's wrong with draught cider?
On a hot day, you realise that extra bit of money is well spent. It's really refreshing.

Get a pint of Strongbow and ask for a half glass of ice, drink a bit then put the ice in your pint, it is much tastier than magners and a pound per drink cheaper!!

Bulmers is a very similar drink...

I've always enjoyed a nice cider, so I can feel 'comfortable' drinking Magners without feeling as I'm following a trend... :)

Used to like Woodpecker (don't see that much now!) I do still find Scrumpy in most 'spoons OB?

:)

not noticed it tbh, although I usually go for either a spirit drink in spoons as they are cheap, corona for 1.75 or pear kopperberg if I''m in the mood
