Based on the criticism you have given me for the use of the word 'black' I can only come to the conclusion that you assume that I am white....
Very dangerous, especially in these 'politically correct times' making such assumptions, some people may even brand you racist for that, while others might work themselves up into a state of such indignation that they begin foaming at the mouth.
Me? I shall just put it down to ignorance, and a profound lack of intelligence. You see the use of the word 'black' was merely for descriptive purposes, and there were no racial slurs. The patrons of that city-centre restaurant at that time could have been white, but they weren't. They were black, and the fact they were black makes no difference to the way I have described them, because the colour of someones skin DOES NOT affect the way they behave in social situations.
I hope this is now abundantly clear to you. It's good that you feel so strongly about racism, but may I suggest that you reproach yourself slightly, after all, assuming someone is white because they are able to convey their sentiments relating to their fast-food dining experiences without making any spelling errors makes it look as though your expectations of people of ethnic origin are that they are poorly educated.
Which is, of course, Racist.
