yeah, slipper used to be owned by the threadwells, as did about 11 or twelve others . they had a penchant for piers at one stage, with felixstowe , south pier lowie, britannia, and 1 or two others. also had arcades in southend and margate.

my worst vote goes to the orwell leisure lounge in ipswich.

was first turned into an arcade by none other than arcade supermeister david manning and flourished for a bit from the mid to late 80's, however , the couple he had in charge were always punting tokens and sharking people and so was their beady eyed son lol. over the course of a few years it went disasterously downhill and all the proper punters got frightened off by the large gangs of negro wasters that used to hang around in there reaching for coins in the trays, fencing stolen sundries and serving up outrageously light deals of twiggy weed cut with oregano, basil and thyme.

They were alright when they had Italian Job 2 and they used to have an unchipped Psycho Cash Beast.

Worthing Pier is run by Gandalf the downright fucking miserable, and machine choice aqnd percentages getting worse and worse constantly...

Quicksilver in Newland Ave in Hull is just generally poor for machine choice, I like my hitechs and there aren't any. First Quickys I've been in that's no hitechs

Gamegrid in Gatwick Airport used to be the pits for bad bulbs, and stank of shit

Arcadia in Ryde aint great by any means. Shit percentages, looks run down inside and generally not comfortable feeling.

Circus Circus in Southend, cos they got the hump when their machines broke on me and never refunded shit all, rude owner

Caesars Palace in Barry for having machines not pay out all the time, bad bulbs and feeling dicked off at every move

Brighton Pier for being Shark central, and having increasingly poor machines on horrible percentages

Leisureland in Hull for bad percentages and a rigged raffle, miserable staff.

Truth be told I haven't received any barrings or fire in arcades really, it's mostly sharks and rock bottom %s with poor machine choice and bad maintenence that do it for me. Some places like Jackpot in Shanklin aren't great for %s but the machine choice was OK and the retro section is nice...Plus, pinball!

The red arcade in scratby great yarmouth had a hole in the roof and even in the summer was so cold. Some players on this site may remember it for having a slam
