The worst arcade ever awards

Post by AMK »

1. Showboat Arcade in Hunstanton
- The most hated arcade in history

2. Slots of Fun, Blackpool
- it's just completely pointless. Always closed and has a tuppeny cracker

3. Nobles Amusements, Bognor Regis
- evil staff who locked me in the disabled toilet

4. Silvers Amusements, Newcastle-Under-Lyme
- evil staff again. Coffee on new carpet revenge

5. Booth Enterprise Amusements, Glasgow
- banned for holding a 0 on a GGG, phone round. Banned from all

Anyone else got any horrors?

Brian Bell in Skegness doesn't like a 0 being held on a GG either.

The Mannings own a lot of the amenities on Felixstowe seafront. When I disputed with him about being banned from the arcade, he said "I'm the owner, I decide who I let in or not"!

That's a school boy error there Lee.

Always ask for change a few times in arcs that ur going in for a reason. Takes heat off once they think ur a ton into the job.

I've even asked for stuff to be 'put on hold' while I went to my fantasy bank!!

Good call. Nip off to your fantasy bank, quick fantasy wank to empty the tank and back to finish the spank... ...ing of desired machine.

On a serious note, the amount of ploys I have er, employed to try and remain allowed into an establishment is ridiculous. We must have all done it at some point...

Misleading thread title alert! Just because you got barred it doesn't mean that the arcade is shit, it just means that you have a personal grudge against the staff or owner. A bit like I have got with Carefree Amusements in Brean, near Weston-super-Mare. The owner (who is now president of BACTA would you believe) banned me over 15 years ago for knowing someone who he had thrown out earlier in the week. Fair enough if you want to be like that, it's your establishment. But then 8 years later he found out where I work and rang up my boss and the Managing Director and informed them that I go round defrauding fruit machines, I can only assume as an attempt to get me fired or at least into trouble. I've never done anything illegal to a fruit machine in my life, so he must have made it all up or listened to lies from local players. I thought it was a bit over the top to do something like that, but that's how some people are.

In terms of arcades, I went into a place in Sleaford once with McStreak and there was one woman in there playing some lo-tech game or other. I went to the counter to get some change and she got up from the machine and came round and served me! So basically you've got a tatty shop with 20 machines in it, most of them in a poor state of repair and the staff are sharking you. What chance have you got?

Arthur Holland is a cunt. End of. I have had one barring in my whole playing life of 30+ years. It was one of his arcades near me. The barring came off the back of the following events : 1) The staff asking me to mind the shop whilst they went to get chips. That's how trustworthy they were of me. 2) Arthur leaving a complete set of machine keys in a Bar X and me handing them back in to the front counter.
Yes I was obviously a right scally, and desrved my barring. On the rare occasions I pass by now, there is never anybody in there, and I like to think that the greedy mentallity Arthur has is biting him back now as he may think, those people I barred in the past for no reason whatsoever, could possibly be still playing here now, and some traffic is better than no traffic.
I haven't visited any of his other arcades in principal since - that was about 6 years ago.
Used to see Ady, although I didn't know him then who used to come in and do GG no.1.
Arthur Holland - prickus maximus.
