The "younger generation" gets blamed a lot for the leak of information, but there is just as many weak links in the players that have been playing10+ years, pretty surprising as you would think they would learn their lesson by then.

Situation as I understand it was involving Newcastle and surrounding areas where groups were starting to appear and they are in the business of threatening decent, law abiding players who may be local or from outside of the area. The culprits always act in a group and issue threats to tax money from players, stabbings, shootings and general intimidation. A colleauge of mine who I rate as the best fruit machine player there's ever been (his mind is 3 or 4 steps in front of even the top knowledge) was threatened recently when on a nationwide tour on an emptier. He'd booked up in a hotel in Newcastle city centre and was enjoying a few drinks, he decided to have a go on whatever machine was in the bar when a gang of 6/7 surrounded him and issued threats saying he should get out of town etc, and not even go anywhere else for a drink as they had taken over the city. Of course, these idiots didn't actually quite realise who they were threatening otherwise they would have offered to buy him drinks all night and maybe even chipped in for his hotel stay in the hope of getting some scrap of information in return.

Further to this, my head of security has talked of many players who have good reputations, mentioning similar things on their visits to the North East and these facts are suposedly common knowledge. Glendale's name was brought into the equation as around five people mentioned his name on here stating he had contacts in the area who were part-linked to the groups who were threatening others. They were part-linked as they were either providing the undesirables with information through an agreement that they would be allowed to play in certain areas or they were simply having the information bullied from them. Glendales contacts were suposedly fairly new to the game and lacked expericence so I mentioned to him on here to educate them if he could, to try and stop some mid-level information finishing before it's life span, hoping this might partly cut out some of the major leaks that are felt on a nationwide level. Maybe there is someone on this board who is local to the north east area or has been threatened in that area who can add some clarity to the situation. As there are a few methods that have been kept under the radar, it is important there is a zero tolerance approach to information provided to these groups who deal in threats and intimidation so we can protect good information in the future and not present ourselves like an open book to those who monitor. On a personal level it makes little difference to me as I only visit this area 2/3 times per year and my head of security is an ex golden gloves winner who can call on a notorious crime family in London should he feel the need. I must stress, myself or any of my security or surveillance team deal in any form of bullying, quite the opposite in fact, but my security will protect me, themselves and the law at all times. My chief in command does not glorify his underworld connections, but simply uses them as a form of self preservation when all over avenues have been exhausted and there are no other options. He owns a restaurant in the capital, and is certainly a good honest man regularly doing marathons in aid of various charities, in fact we are both running the New York marathon together in November. One of the other posters mentioned something in Sunderland but I haven't heard anything about this area, although there were rumours of trouble going back a long time ago. Now Milton Keynes..............I'll tell you what happened there tomorrow night as my girlfriend has just cracked open a bottle of La Poja (2006) and we're going to enjoy the remainder of Agatha Christie's Poirot.

Glendales attitude and approach to machines is representative of a much bigger problem. If one man can contribute to the downfall of two unique geographical areas (east anglia & north east), then think what collective damage this hive mind could cause. Money changes people very quickly. Especially if you pick them up out of the gutter. The new groups in the North East have already fragmented and begun to form new groups again. This has also happened around Bristol, and in Wolverhampton.

Negotiation is difficult with someone who fails to see the consequences of his actions. I would actively suggest that anyone who is involved in furnishing Glendale with information, or knows someone who does, move to cease this ASAP.
