How much does everyone think they are up lifetime?
How much does everyone think they are up lifetime?
And over what period of time? and where has it gone?
my figures must be well over 600k over 15 years but relatively fuck all left from what was once a 6 figure bank balance. lost the will to live in this game now, reckon anyone with half a brain would be better off never pressing a start button ever again?! ops:

To be honest I don't think many people know how much they have made over the years, I spunk most of mine, but have got some saved up and I'm not willing to say how much it is. I'd be suprised if somebody said how much they have saved. The only people that will tell you how much they have will be the skint people.

i think its a pretty impossible question ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
most of us have earned an above average wage ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but with it you develop an above average taste for expensive luxuries etc ,,,,,,,,,,,,
plus the price of living is through the roof for some peoples circumstances .,,,,,,,,,,,
by the time the basics are covered , there can be little left to actually save
even if your organised ,,,,,,,,,,
look at ratty for instance ,,,,,, im sure he's one of the most dedicated top earners in the game ,,,,,,,, but his outgoings are extortionate
then there are differing discipline issues ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, with some earning loads but spunking more on other forms of gambling .
so do you boil it down to savings ?? ,,,,,,,,, of course not ,,,,,,,, you cant because some have earnt less but saved more than others etc
pretty impossible really,,,,,,,,,,,,,, im sure most pro's over the last 20 years have earned a few hundred k ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but where is it ???

Very true, but some of the kids have piped up over the last year saying they've saved x amount of cash.deano8177 wrote:To be honest I don't think many people know how much they have made over the years, I spunk most of mine, but have got some saved up and I'm not willing to say how much it is. It's hard to calculate how much I have earned out of fruits, but the distractions have stopped me earning money, not only consumed the money I have made.
For example in years gone by I might have gone to casino, lost a couple of grand, then spent a couple of hundred on coke, a hundred on a hotel and another couple of hundred on a brass for an hour.
Total spend, £2500. But the following day i'm languishing in bed rather than going out and making perhaps a couple of hundred, so the expense carries on. That sort of lifestyle is totally unsustainable, no matter how much money you are earning.

I know a few players who say they've got "hundreds of grands" in the bank yet these same players have a dozen or more credit cards, and I've seen them take cash out on them. Always raises a suspicious eyebrow from myself.
I only have a debit card, so I'd never spend what I couldn't afford. My clothes are cheap and my standard of living (caravan) is basic.
But I like that way. I'm in the country next to a field of horses, with a pond to one side and a vegetable patch to the other.
I'm no pikey - I could probably Tarmac a driveway though - but it's the life I like. A wife and kids and I'd be complete.
I think I've done well, but know that I could've done better. Moneywise I'm comfortable though not rich, it's not what I aimed for. I'm trying to make the next year or so my last on fruits (the way things are heading we may not have a choice), then I can go into business with two of my friends.

Just one piece of advice from me though:
Don't be to willing to help out those who make money yet are always skint. They'll see your kindness and mistake it for weakness. They'll always tell you hardluck stories in the hope you'll help them out, when all you're doing is wasting your own time and money. I saw a player from Brighton with a grand in his pocket go skint in the bookies then ring another player up with a false shaky voice saying he has nowhere to live and hadn't eaten etc, begging for a loan or a day on the fruits.
Opened my eyes a bit.

Also you cannot measure success in money, its about what makes you happy in life. Mind you money does help.

I know the feeling mate, I must of lent out god knows how much money over the years and not got it back. Now I'll just give people one chance and one chance only. People always giving bullshit reasons why they can't pay back time after timeBeen-Grant-Mitchell'd! wrote: Must have lent out thousands, quite literally, without getting a penny back.
But as soon as you refuse to do it again, you're a cunt!
I'll be a cunt!
after time.
