Pub violence

Had a load of aggro from a local tonight in a pub, had a massive row with him and ended up getting threatened not to go back in there (with it having a stakes and prizes and a leprechauns gold that's not ideal!).

During this row I really wanted to knock the guy out which is very unusual for me...not in my nature at all, whether it was just a short fuse because of a stressful (but eventually lucrative) week I don't know, or because I realised I was going to lose a tucked pub with 2 playables in, not sure.

Anyway, who's been hit because of a fruit? And have you ever hit anyone because of a machine? Whats the worst example of violence you've heard about in the machine world?

Brown bear in biggleswade the landlord tried to thump me for winning £4 on his cliffhanger! He missed and smashed the machine!

Unfortunately pubs are the favorite refuge of the workshy, uneducated, repugnant social bottom-scrapers that only have violence and prejudice in their repertoire of life skills.

Do you stand up to them and exercise your rights, but maybe get stabbed and have to watch your back every time you are in the area, since they will harbour great resentment at being cowed in their territory ?

This kind of person has little to lose, which always worried me when I had situations like this.

A very true analysis of the situation. And yes I do feel like I am getting too old for this kind of environment. Maybe this sounds arrogant, I don't know, but I also feel like I'm better than that too.

Perhaps he's getting pissed off with ramming 40 plus in the lep gold for a board,sometimes you cant blame the odd local for getting the hump!.

I've been in several uncomfortable positions, just the other week we had the whole pub watching us and whispering, there was 7-8 of them, they were all on their phones and in the end there was about 10 of them, we got thrown off it after we got jacky but it was still ready, we was around £30 in front on it at the time, one of them stood in the doorway but moved when asked, there are some pubs i won't go in at certain times, not out of fear, just because i've got to know what time certain irate locals are in there, there is one idiot that see's it as his duty to point me out to everyone in the pub, where previously no one has gave us a second glance, i'm always going back over the same ground because of this, gotta be done for good units.

have a few pubs i stay away from not because im scared but its easier to go in a certain times just like scott has stated, few headcases round here that dont take kindly to someone walking away with "their money" luckily i know most people in my local arae including barstaff etc and as yet had no problems with violence.

I started to became plagued by a feeling of impending doom whenever I was playing something I knew I was going to win on. After a while I just thought I don't need the hassle. Got invited out last week to do some bits that the person was barred from. Thought about it and decided I just couldn't be fucked with it all.

It's even worse when you have done your brains in the fruit and they still get funny about it.

Also I hate getting funny looks of locals when I ain't even won fuck all.

Often when you end up losing they seem to get funny. More so than when you actually win.

It was my first hit! They had an alien last year which I did twice before Ivor Thomas pulled it out, only things I've ever played in there!

Once took a dig it out an was told to 'take my jackpot an fuckoff' by a bunch of angry locals but no violence.most of the places I go the locals are ok,get the usuall 'next rounds on you' but that's about it.
