Games that have been taken off

Post by Northern Monkey »

I know that this has been discussed before but I am not sure I saw any definitive conclusion.

Once a game has been 'abused' and removed does it ever find its way back on to the menu and if so how/ at what point does this happen?

Simply depends if the game is considered to be one worth saving. The game makers find the point of abuse, fix it, test it on site for as long as it takes to make sure the problem has been resolved and then put it out again. Good example would be Pub Quiz which got murdered a short time ago but was obviously a game the boxes wanted.
Are you hoping a certain game comes back?

Sorry Proper I realise my post wasnt clear. What i meant was when a game on a particular paragon unit gets withdrawn on that unit to protect itself after a "decent" win has been taken out of it- at what point does it reappear.

Does it come back after a period of time? Does the machine need resetting? Does that particular unit never see it again- as others have noted eliminating all chance of it recovering back to its percentage.

I have never seen one that I have removed re-appear on the same machine. Some have been missing in action for over six months now! lol. I think it would take human intervention for them to be reinstated.

That's basically my experience. If e.g. a Paragon is remote-updated with new games/question updates etc., do auto-removed games return then?

My guess is that they will only reappear when resited.

Certainly a resiting must restore the game. I saw two virgin Secret Letters within 5 mins of the office yesterday and in fact whenever you get a fresh machine which appears to have been relocated from elsewhere (rather than brand spanking new) it seems to have the full array of games.

knew about this months ago from a fruity player who shall remain nameless and swore me to secrecy. And no I didnt benefit from it. I was told what he was doing but not how to obtain the info required to actually do it myself.I hope that the majority of machines he scammed were Sceptres as he comes from the South of England. In fact I knew of the plan years ago and only realised that it had been put into operation when I bumped into him.

If machine companies were whiter than white , had proper refunding policies in place with machines with software that at least showed the publicans in every instance that the machine owed you money in the event of a non-payout and engineers did not come out on a regular basis saying that the machine owed me nothing, and if the games had fair questions with actually a chance of achieving the jackpot with correct answers and not just wrong but double right answers Id be totally against what the fruit players do in the SWP world.

However, the fact that many (although not all) developers and machine suppliers are quite happy to scam the swp player , the fact that they get scammed themselves gives me a small degree of satisfaction. They are getting a taste of their own medicine

To be Fair to Sceptre
I had a working C4 up to last month.

Funnyist thing was it was on 50p a while back and then I went in a saw it was "now £1 play" so tried it and still Player 1 go 1st so carried on ...then after a while again I noticed all the questions where different but could still do it. Seems like that techy enjoyed keepin me entertained. Sadly I went to it 2 weeks ago to find that it had Finally gone. I did check to see if he had put that one game on a unit somewhere else in the pub as a laugh but unfortunatly the Fun was over :-( . This one did come up with the IOU amount though. had it IOU for £16 once so decided to play it back in so thought "big reds" would be fun to play....1st game won my 1st ever £10JP on it  then had to play £25 worth of credits back into it lol.
Thing was it wasnt the money, it was the buzz and the "beating the machine" that made it good to play. I think it must of been one of say 10 last working C4 in england shorly?

I did try buyin an old INDY unit with it on but sadly as the totch screen had gone he wouldnt sell it to me

Sorry a bit off topic
