hits that other players pass on

Post by pickareel »

if a player passes a hit that he's been barred from do you go in for it?i tend to stay away because if they have already barred they will have eyes out for others

Always awkward! Tend to leave it week or two and hit it at busy times! Always a ban looming though!

Tend to be the same! If you only have one hit left then leave the pub alone, hopefully they forget you by the next time a playable turns up! I used to change my appearance but going bald stopped that! :-)

As you grow older you become less fearless! I saw the ban coming in Diss. Was lucky he paid me the £98. Especially after the town was on alert after the Bankers Bonus emptier!

80% of pubs in your area are DP Leisure. That could be the reason why!

Like oddfeet, I'll go in any pub until barred. But I'll try and get another player (if I'm with one on a rare occasion) to go in if I'm with them.

As for getting that last potential hit, you'd be surprised how long you can get away with it for. Had a quality dig it that I knew was on fire, I kept thinking this is the last hit but made an extra grand out of it before it got plugged (they still didn't have the guts to properly bar me!)

On the flip side I got thrown off a dead mans yesterday because he had barred me before, never ever seen the guy! I think he must have mistaken me for another player I look a bit like. Anyone had this?

As for running in and hitting the skill, that's awesome!
Bored of the grind.

I would go in for something a mate is barred from, and have many times, do people go back after its been plugged on you, but nothing has actually been said? You find some ain't got the bottle to say anything, but will plug it when you order a drink, a few months back i was getting on top on a regular, good hit, my face was known so i waited in the car, he came back with in 5 minutes, so he's either smashed it or been barred, he had ordered his drink, gone for a piss, and it was off when he came back from the toilet, i would never give them that opportunity by leaving the room so they can plug it.

Vary it up a bit. If I think it's gettin a bit on top then send a colleague in and vice versa.

Can't stand gutless landlords who just switch it off when u walk in. It's pathetic. Why not just tell u straight ur not allowed to play it?

We do vary it up, we have places were we do alternative hits, he has got barred but i'm still fine, and vice versa, sometimes your boat race just don't fit, i've got machines that are ready probably 3 times a week, but i'll only go once a week, purely because its better to have it once a week than never at all.

I always head for the games room, check all the darts, doms, pool nights etc., check when the team are playing away from home and 8 out of 10 times, the landlord is a member of the league so travels with them,

and the reason folk get barred from 8 out of 10 pubs in their area is because they have a habit of leaving a full half pint of coke next to the machine. I have a few good scores round my area and I've become a regular, if I feel I'm taking the piss, I'll have a few drinking sessions in there on my own or with a friend, get to know the regulars & the landlord/manager.

Round my neck of the woods, they only get low floats so if the note lights on, you're making. Walked into a pub the other day, landlord with a welcoming smile said "Yer note lights on", smiled and said some geezers had fed quite a few notes in this afternoon. £70 1st £1. He was happy for me, knowing I'd won fair & square! It was a Red though I suppose.
