Don't really talk to him now but lakes is the best pool player ive seen.

I used to reasonable myself, league etc but would be doing well to take 2 frames out of 10 against him.

New rules are stupid! Snookers are part of the game! I like a long game! Sod clearing up at £1 a game! £1:50 was the dearest i have seen at cambs bowl! Any more expensive anywhere?

When I last went butlins Skegness I think it was £2 a go. Fucking rip off. My local is only 50p a game and it probaly still takes about £30 a week of me.

not blowing my own trumpet or anything but i used to be an excellent player, by the age of 12 i was knocking in 50+ i went from strength to strength, pool i was in a different league played the british doubles champions when i was 16 in a pub in portsmouth beat them 9 nil, i stopped playing when i was about 18 wish i hadnt, being so good was due to both my parents running snooker clubs , i had a sponsor set up willing to back me but a few things happened which changed the way things worked out. i still like a game now snooker and pool and i dont think there would be many that could beat me still under the semi pro level. oh and yes ive won a few quid over the years playing in pubs and clubs etc

I agree, snookers are a huge part of the game, and playing a good snooker is an art. That said if I have an opportunity to dish up then i'll take it. As Cannonball said its all about the break, but knowing your angles is vital.

I play Kesh a fair bit, best of 3 for a fiver. He won't play higher stakes than that, which is a shame for me. We have a rule that an 8 ball clearance takes the set, which if you're 1 nil down gives you extra incentive, plus makes for a more open game.

Wouldn't say i'm a shark, but I can be decent sometimes!

Last year when we went to Yarmouth for the national finals, I played out of my skin and only lost 1 game.

I also beat Gareth Hibbott (England International) with a cue i'd never used before! :D Pity we went out 10-9 on a 1 frame shootout 'cos my mate bottled an easy clearance with everyone watching. Most gutting thing we've been through as a team for sure. :( [/url]

Yarmouth's a great weekend isn't it matt!

went last month for the uni championships, but i got beaten in the last 16 by someone that narrowly lost to some england international called jack pople, who got battered by an ex snooker pro called will jerram in the final.

The standard of play was actually scary, i'm handy and i'll break dish 1 in 10 or so, but i'd have been destroyed, people were just taking out clearances that you wouldn't even consider possible.

Got a lag and a break in my 3-0 flyer match loss too  .

That is why I think killer would be a fair choice of game over any standard play because someone who isn't very good would still have a chance at claiming the pot. It would have to be how Scott said though so their would be no old pals setting each other up and splitting fat pots! :x

Yarmouths a buzzing weekend! We know realistically we've got no real chance of winning it with lots of teams full of pros/internationals/semi pros etc....but as it's only 80 miles up the road, we don't mind too much as we just get pissed out of our heads instead. Add to that its usually a free weekend for me as all the drunks plough the fruits and I can mop up after, and its a win win situation, even if the selection there isn't great! :D 8)

Yeah but Vauxhall doesn't open all year, plus you need to be a member to get in - in theory anyway. I should think he's got better things to be playing than waiting round for a Hot Property, Big Deal, Dream Factory & a £35 Caribbean Cash! That said there is a decent set of games in there...
