I never moaned when there was a Hellraiser and a Vamp/AFU/SRM etc in the same pub!!! :D

Overdone clones? Cop The Lot and the LOTR variant were good, but then they released subsequent clones which weren't quite as enjoyable.

The worst clone ever is the machine in Corrie - blatant rip off of Hellraiser & co.....but it was absolutely abysmal.

Was definitely out on £15.

In answer to the other question, couldn't Red Hot Knights do a hidden invincible?

Scott is spot on. Was it only Monty that did the pick a win that went up progressively from 2 quid to jackpot? I can't remember!

I remember once waiting for a Neptunes Treasure, someone was re-cycling mid size wins, then we heard the little sound it would make when it flashed (treasure time) there is no way in the world he had a jackpot previous, so we put it down to a random flash, only one i've ever known to do it!!!

Moot point indeed. People moan about donds being everywhere, but don't moan about the fact that every electrocoin is essentially the same, all the panthers etc were the same, constant red clones and the like. All manufactureres make clones, it just depends if it's a clone of something good or not!

Exactly, the whole point in cloning is to keep the familiarity of gameplay for punters. Your casual player does not want to continually start afresh with features and board style, it gives people a sense of comfort playing new machines. It's the entire basis for the industry and always has been, its also massively cost effective for the manufactures.

Cloning is perfectly fine.

But I can't ever remember a town that had 19 out of 20 machines being a red or coins. They've flooded the market with DOND's which can cause overkill. So crest have been creeping back into the market however they're mainly TIOLI's anyway

No, but that's always been the way. Red never had and never will have the dominant market position of Bellfruit and Barcrest. Ever since the first DOND came out, it's been all one way traffic ever since, mugs just can't get enough of tidy beard can they.

I'd say one of the most used themes is the double/nothing 10 nudge machines.

Jpm done loads, reglassed, Crystal caught on and now Relfex are having a go too!
