RACE REPORT FOR CHAMPION TIPSTER COMPETITION

Post by Master of Games »

1st Jaffacat 111
Near leaders from start, steady progress throughout, led just after half way, clear, faded towards finish, just held on all out.
2nd Marcossvon 109
Started midfield, dropped out by jockey, under pressure from half way, found more, appeared to be cruising and made smooth headway last quarter, ran on strongly to chase leader and made up considerable ground, just failed.
3rd Gambogaz 98
prominent throughout, couldn't go with leader, ran on under pressure but one paced, no chance with leaders.
4th Mr Lugsy 96
never really in with a chance, plodded on past beaten horses, finished 4th.
5th Matilda 93
started well, lost position towards middle and never recovered.
6th Harry2 91
always to the fore, faded towards finish when no extra after pace increased.
7th Master of Games 86
started well, hit fence almost stopped to a walk, ran on but no chance with leaders.
8th Rook 81
started well, never really challenged, faded.
9th Northern Monkey 76
Always with leaders until last 1/4 of race when finished lame.
9th Banditbreaker 76
Never a threat, kept on.
11th 999329573 73
started well, faded quickly.
12th Mr Tipster 59
steadied start, hardly figured, kept hitting fences, could never mount a serious challenge.
13th Maverick 40
led, hit fence, stopped to a walk, pulled up.
14th Rob Pots 10
started from a long way back, poor effort to get into race, pulled up.
15th Explayer 7
hit first few fences and fell.

VERDICT
A solid performance by Jaffacat, he showed his class when he turned the screw and went clear, perhaps didn't jump as well as he could have at speed. Jockey could be blamed for the classy Marcossvon's defeat; he seemed more like tailing off completely at one stage. Harry 2 never got into it when he was in the perfect position to do so, Ma71lda looked promising like Gambogaz but disappointed. Master of Games made a good recovery after an awful 2nd quarter of the race but found little at the finish though he should improve for the run, Mr Lugsy plodded on well perhaps needs softer ground. Maverick looked as if he may deliver but ultimately it was the usual promises and delivery was lost in the post... the much talked about Mr Tipster was a bitter disappointment, he did show some ability but could never get going, another possible improver but best watched for the moment...perhaps the biggest disappointment was Northern Monkey who really looked in with a chance until the awful last quarter where he went lame. 999329573 also looked promising but found nothing under pressure. Banditbreaker never really got going. A great race to watch.
