Stevie S wrote:Ok, if its true, why on earth would you pull 10k out of your pocket? Do you realise how big your pockets would have to be to have 10k in them anyway!
each note is 0.0043 inches

£10,000 is 500 £20 notes,

500 * 0.0043 = 2.15

2,15 inches into cm = 5.46 (lets round this to nearest half)

so the notes, bunched together would be 5.5cm thick

which is about the same thickness as an iphone + a pack of fags + a reasonable shaped wallet..

i for one, dont fully doubt this story.. i know a 17 year old kid who has a £4000 watch, so theres no reason why a fully grown man doesnt own a more expensive set of jewelery,

ive seen people in casinos with more than this. also, ive seen pissed off people do and say stupid things..

can someone lock this pointless thread now please?

As someone who has actually had 10 bags of £1000 bundles of £50's in the casino, i can assure you, the bulk is most unwieldy.

You'd look a right plonker pulling all them out, not to mention ruining your suit pocket stuffing them in.

Guess some people with money just don't dress well ! :D

£1000 'sealed bags' are normally £10 notes or £20's. £50 notes come in £2500 sealed bags. Or they did....

But he wasn't taking money from the casino. It was already on his person.
Maybe the guy has special pockets on his bespoke suit ! £10k in fifties is still a fair wedge, though.

Very. Considering the prices to book there in the holidays I'm suprised it's so expensive when you're there!
I'll have to wait a bit until I'm 21, save up and go when all the kids are in school I think!

Bit of a joke thread tbh. But I believe maverick because it's easy to hold that notage and I've seen just as much at the casino myself or at the races. For what it's worth I never used to leave the house with under 1k on me and often a lot more. It's easy to get in a pocket and I'm sure 10k isn't that hard. Steve I feel you are being very naive here.

if it was new notes, £10,000 in £50's could be as small as carrying a large mobile phone, folded in half would be about the thickness of a old cassette player walkman.

blackmogu suggests it is most unwieldy! Why take so much cash out with you when there are cash machines everywhere? Oh, and if you are a regular, casinos give you a tab too. The days of having to carry large volumes of cash around are well and truly gone.

Lots of traders carry cash. Might spot a motor for sale and sellers will often settle for less with a cash purchase, rather than a BACS payment or a bankers draft.

True enough harry, if I won a huge bundle in a casino though their is no way I would collect a few grand and be mad enough to leave the casino walking home with it though, and casinos make it as easy as possible to make sure everyone has safe and unlimited access to money if you wish to have a hard session one night. The only time I get stuck with undesirable bundles of cash now is when I hit fruit machines.
