all people have something theyre good at, were just good at playing machines, i dont know why were hated for it.
some people are good with computers so they work in an office, some are good with cars so they work for mr clutch, im good at reading/playing fruitys so thats what i do, it IS hard graft getting about everywhere knowing when to play and when to leave and trying not to get barred lol.

as for the perfect deal info, the chip was out when the info went public, i think thats why it came out, i saw a chipped unit on thursday and alot never got it till friday and saturday.

i think grail was the same.

i dont think no one grafts like you tho ratty lol, going from the convo we had at the meet.

Yes, I know that, you know that but the pricks in the pubs/arcades/establishments don't and we're classed amongst that lot and benefit cheats, cash in hand workers, odd jobbers, etc.

there are a lot of negative aspects ,,,,,,,,, but money is a moot point ,,,,,, because any good disciplined player who has banked a bit from this game and has his head screwed on right ,already has the drive and ambition skill set implanted in there psyche ,,,,,,,, so more than likely if they had chosen a different career path , then no doubt they would have been just as successful on that ladder ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the stupid players that have earnt as much money sloting as we have ,,,,,, have had ample time to put money away ,,,,,,,,,, yet live basically skint from week to week.....through lack of discipline .. would have started life shelf packing at asda say for example (nothing wrong with that) ,,,,,,,,,,,, but would still be doing the same job 20 years down the line,,,,, because their lack of aptitude wouldn't put them forward for promotion or advancement in life.

so its not the money earnt ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, earning money is simple ,,,,,, keeping it is the true skill

look at kerry katona as just one example of a person who has earned far more than we ever will ,,,,,,,,, but a few months ago declared herself bankrupt ( now i dont want to hear any bollocks about ex boyfriends robbing her blind etc etc ) the fact is if she had any intelligence she wouldn't have let it happen .

im taking a week off now to heal a bad leg ,,,,,,,,,,,, that would cripple a lot of players (pun intended lol) who live fast with their earnings , live week to week , and dont allow or plan for things like this.

so money doesn't come into it.

then of course there's the other negative aspects as mentioned by others , the agro/barings/player trust etc ......... fair enough

but by far the best aspect of being a player ,,,,,,,, is freedom ,,,,,,,,,,,

not working for the man ,
able to get out of bed at your own beck n call ,,,,,,,, nobody else's
being above the system.
independence
spending as much/little time as you want with loved ones

you cant put a price on that.

and that's what keeps me at it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, along with my own lack of intelligence to have been something better like a company director or something by now....

know your limits ,,,,,,,, and prepare for eventualities .

we're not losers for choosing the fruit path,,,,,,,,,,,,,, we're losers only if we dont maximise the potential of our chosen field.

lee.

Being a professional player is the same of any other job. Those with the basic skills and knowledge will subsist at the bottom of the chain and those with superior skills, knowledge, drive and determination will rise to the top. Suspect the golden years of pro playing are coming to an end soon, though when physical reelled machines are updated to video slots.

I don't think video slots will ever catch on to be honest Harry, they tried them in my local and the boss got the old machines back in because he was losing money because of a lack of interest from your average punter. :D

open question mate, for anybody to answer. i couldn't go pro, even if i had the starter float and a wealth of knowledge, too many years of playing them blindly has formed my girlfriends opinion of them, even though i have control of what and when i play now and rarely lose considerable amounts she still doesn't like them.

My parents hated it at first , and naturally wanted better for me ,,,,,,,,, but once the £10 cash era ushered in and i was paying my own way,,,,,,, they soon accepted it.

its the general nature of the uninitiated girlfriends/parents/family etc ,,,,,,,, to see what we do is anything short of seedy .

you must be

a drain on society and the hard working tax payer
a lowlife scumbag
a horrible proposition for our daughter
a gambling addict (you cant win on fruit machines , it isn't possible )
a thief , stealing to fund your habit ,,,,,,, and max'd out on loans from all possible sources

even if you drop a cpl of hundred coins days takings on their kitchen table ,,,,,,,,,, its ''yes ok , hmmm but what exactly does he do to them ? ,,,,,, must be using a device?''

thats the view of 95% of the closed minded public .

it takes time to convince wags families aunts uncles etc,,,,,,,,,,, most of em come round with regular changing of coin soiled tablecloth .

but some people ,,,,,,,,, you'll NEVER convince

Thats bollox Lee, I earn to live not live to earn. I pull in a half decent amount most months off the machines, more than some and less than others, but becuase I choose to enjoy life and maybe live a bit dangerously in terms of float levels and the money I spunk on other(non gambling forms) it doesnt make me stupid.

I'd find it boring grafting away and then sticking the money straight in the bank for a later life that might not even exists, I take holidays, trips away, enjoy a very active social life and dont really worry about whats round the corner. That may cause a difference of opinions amongst players on here, but it doesnt make me or like minded people stupid.

I'd much rather be that way inclined than some fuckin fruit machine nerd who's never kissed a girl and has fuck all mates outside of the fruit machine world regardless of how much money I should/could have in the bank.

Not that I have anything against those that choose the more careful way of life, its just not for me thats all. But once again, dont class me in the stupid bracket as ur post above implies.

And yes I've just played a deadmans thats played up!!!!!

It is true that we who are wasteful are REALLY wasteful at least for a long period that either continues forever or makes you suddenly realise that you're doing all this for nothing. I'm talking about gambling it all away, not spending it on enjoyment, women, cars, etc. When I look back, I find it particularly depressing that for quite a long period I was like some sort of slave for Ladbrokes or a casino - working all day, making loads (and I was a top, top earner with my runs) and then burning it all in the fire that is gambling. I'm not so bad now and have my limits but all that time, all that effort will never come back. Granted, I could have won shit loads if 1 of my big bets came in or I was a little bit luckier - or I had a great win in the casino but it wasn't to be. If I could go back 10 years knowing what I know now I'd be the happiest person on earth, I'd have more than what I would need now to do something with my life. This is life though and you learn from your mistakes - even repeatedly repeating and repeating...you do eventually just sit back one day and say you gave it more than enough shots, money just isn't meant to come to you from this route so give it a rest. I still play but small scale, small stakes going for longshots - I find it more entertaining building small money up into big as there's less pressure throughout.

Anyone who's done this job, enjoyed life but has nothing left to show for it has still done well as far as I'm concerned because you don't take anything with you when you finally go. Nice if you can leave something behind for loved ones though.
