If you want a good gangster film you must watch:

Once Upon A Time In America. Directed by spaghetti western supremo Sergio Leone(Good Bad Ugly etc) and starring De Niro, James Woods and Joe Pesci. Top notch film.

Get the directors cut though, as the Americans have re-edited it (badly).

Stir of Echoes is pretty good for an old film, If you like 6th sense you'll like it.

Brewsters Millions with Richard Pryor? Excellent film, he puts loads of money on all the longshots, and they all come in!! I think the bookie says as he gives him his winnings " the words out on U"?

It's a remake of an old Black & White film. Very funny, though.

Like The Miracle of 34th Street at Christmas as well (sad !!!)

The Caine version of Get Carter is well worth a look.

If you've got a spare ten hours or so watch all three of the Godfather films.

If you like a bit of suspense, give "Cube" a shot.

I'm mainly an action/Arnie man myself :-)

harry m8 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it is widely considered by many that the godfather parts 1 and 2 are the last word in gangster epics ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and in my humble opinion they are indeed superb ,,,,,, with goodfellows and casino coming close behind .

all superb films that should be in everyone's top 20 films of all time

but for me , ,,,,,,, once upon a time in america,,,,,,,, top's em all

its everything from the story , the acting , the pace , and not forgetting the awesome awesome haunting score ,,,,,,,

you cant help but whistle a few of the notes from noodles and co ,,,,,,,,, it just gets in your head....

as for jackie chan , ,,,,,,,,,,, a lot of people only know of him since rush hour ,,,,,, but his early films are epic ,just watch drunken master and/or snake in the eagle's shadow or any of the police story's ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, dragon's forever, project a or wheels on meals with jackie , sammo hung and yuen bieu are truly outstanding too.
