Why are mega streaks always flat???
Why are mega streaks always flat???
It is really pissing me off that nearly every machine pays a flat mega or, if it's in a good mood, a few quid over lol. Back when jackpots were only £25, myself, and I am sure many here, can remember when they could go for £100 and sometimes even a little bit more! There is no chance a £70 would go for £280 and I would not believe anyone who says they have had this and I have my doubts about even £210 unless of course the machine needs a re-chip. Playing them with shortcuts to the pot is of doubtful value because you know it will be flat and you will probably end up putting most profit back in hoping that there may be afterplay. All I can say is that the tighter these machines get, the tighter I will get.
how about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray.

If ur playing machines for shortcuts to pots you won't be checking for afterplay!!Stevie S wrote:It is really pissing me off that nearly every machine pays a flat mega or, if it's in a good mood, a few quid over lol. Some machines can do £210's. Mostly those horrible triple 7 cab type games but ask JG how much they can cost!!
Apart from small breaks on MS's which come as a result of a force ir a spawny box on dond, it's only gonna be natural cycled GATW's or Michael Ikle icon boards that have the potential to go big nowadays.
Altho the jackpots have gone up, each time u get a £70 it's not really any different to gettin a nice run on a £25/£35 machine.
And £70's can't do £280's I'm afraid it's not legal. Dodgy empire chips aside!!

Whats the Savoy like now its been done up? Nothing wrong with a bit of indulgence, I used to stay near the Millenium wheel if I was in London, then get a cab to Leicester Square for a nice sit down meal and then a casino session. Then the following morning i'd be off round the shops. Westfield shopping centre is a great place to shop, picked up some nice bits last time I was there.
Years ago when I lived near Bristol I'd book into the Marriott for the weekend, and, armed with a couple of grand, hit the casinos. The Grosvenor used to do a lovely fillet steak, and because I used to lose horrific amounts of money up there my meals and drinks were usually complimentary. After the meal was out of the way i'd start drinking excessively and plough through a couple of grams of cocaine. The casinos shut at 4am back then, and i'd normally end up at a massage parlour.
Great times they were. Sadly playing a £30 freeze out, a night in an Ibis and a kebab is about as exciting as it gets for me these days!
:P ! A night in an ibis !! That one made me laugh, having experienced their awfulness.Mr McStreak wrote:BFK wrote:I'm in a bunk bed at my parents house!!![]()

Many moons ago, I used to frequent the same Grosvenor in Bristol - they were quite good with steaks, which was also my meal of choice in there !! They weren't stingy on comps either, which was nice. I used to do the grandslams in there, then head down to the Stakis and do their 'slam and perhaps Dracula, before winding up in Stanleys to have a spot of blackjack !
Good times.

Yes it was most enjoyable frequenting the casinos back then. The stakis had a £500 big top which I used to chase alot, it used to alternate between 250 and 500 red streaks, as i'm sure you remember. They also had a £1000 trailblazer. The grosvenor was a great place to be, club golden dragon, 2 slams, super 6 which I used to chase alot and the baby slam. 500 beast which used to save up a seperate jp which span in. And £1000 costa del cash. Think they had a couple of 5 alives as well... Great games that were so easy to read. Used to pop over to cardiff and down to plymouth from time to time too. Its sad to think how great it was back then when you look how it is up there now. Gala have just introduced American Roulette to their harbourside casino, a bad game for the punter made worse, and some of the blackjack variations, pair plus etc, are enough to make me not go to casinos at all...
Boo!
There was a bloke aptly named Darren Grosvenor who used to do the slams, nice bloke, kept himself to himself. Think he plays professional poker around Nottingham now.

I expect we must have met at some point, since those machines were pretty much what I remember. The Stakis also had a £1000JP Rio Grande for a bit, opposite the Big Top, the other side of the room near the entrance.
Grosvenor had a big top for a bit too.
Did you ever do the club IJ in the Stanleys ? hehe.

I never got that £1000JP Costa Del Cash - Mrs. Wong used to shark that something awful !
