mysterious stuff. i've never been to nottingham so it is not me.
could be one of the Bobs or Hull Hull? But i don't know of any players who don't take every oppportunity to leave their graffiti on the scoreboards.
when WU resets the scoreboards are all lost (pity) and reset to a default with names like edster, natalie, luggage, bazz etc. their scores are modest so the QUIZZICALLY was definitely done by a real person.
annoyingly, when the machines reset the prize bar does not revert any more but remains at 1650 or whatever you left it at.
are there any other good scores round there? i'm sure EWQ would be interested.

Exeter falls to VB
Went to Exeter this weekend and was guided round a plethora of boozers by my Exeterian friend.
End result: 28 SCOREBOARDS TOPPED in a solo-stylee (all machines played on owned)
UP - your stronghold has been ransacked.
Tale of the tape:
Imperial (Spoons): machine 1: 2125 (new solo best - in 24 words too
) TT: 8360
machine 2: 1817 TT: 8010
Bowling Green: 1844
Horse and Dray: 1843
Black Horse: 1728
Exeter City Supporters Club Bar (!): 1802
Waterfront: 1746
Tower Inn (Ferno): 1862
Prospect: 1738
Longbrooke: 1823 QUIZZICAL
Bowling Alley nr Quays: 1708 REVERBERATIONS TT: 9620
Three Fat Fish: 1569
City Gate: 1694
King: 1742
Chaucers: 1702
Wellhouse: 1703
Ship: 1813 (with MN, who, for once, pitched in with a word)
Mint: 1713
Kings: 1930 PIZZAZZ QUARANTINES
Hole in Wall: 1808
Royal Oak: 1840
Walkabout: 1745
Malt House: 1788
Butlers: 1719
White Hart: 1742
Queen Vic: 1754
St George's Meeting House: 1716
and, last of all, I slapped down a formidable:
John Gandy: 1136 - just so the locals don't get too discouraged
Nottingham is quite possibly next...were there any 1800+s there, ZAX?

exeter's bowling green is one of my favourite ever pubs.
anyway i can't compete with that but i was disappointecd to have QUACKSALVERS rejected yesterday. especially since i cocked it up twice before getting it. i was that upset that i spent the remaining minute fumbling for my camera phone to take a picture.
nobody ever wins on those things.

i dare say quicksilver would be okay, not convinced it can be pluralised.
as an etymological snob i'm disappointed that beautiful words get bastardized to shorter, less elegant words which may also be homonyms for animal sounds.
(my own bête noir is 'hate' being used in the place of 'hatred')
mind you (as you can see) this was on a gamesnet hence the collins gem dictionary, i suspect QUACKSALVERS might be allowed on the newer itboxes. by way of consolation i got CHTHONIC again which is my favourite word ever.

Re: Nottingham
Yes whoever got QUIZZICALLY got 2100+
Tend not to go into the City Centre and play the games much- prefer to stick to the sticks - in other words don't come round my bit where we mere 'coca-cola champions' fight it out! though would prob lol seeing your name suddenly appear all over the shop.
There's loads of machines in the City Centre though matey so I'm sure its well worth combining with any other business......

Gotta go up to Nottingham to investigate asap...
It could be some of the Scrabble players - the strongest club side, Nottingham Nomads, is based there.
Re the Hogshead, Farringdon - it wasn't me and prob wasn't Fotherz as I don't think it's near his work or commuting stops.

Have you got a UK map and a box of pins Ernest? I thkn its time you started marking territories! :P
Get yourself around York, i know for a fact it has 0 big time players, and every ITBOX i found had scores of 1100-1400. Cheap and easy to get there, and should make you a packet!
