I've heard of these before but until tonight never seen one come out of a machine. Player been on holiday or supplier falling on really hard times???

there's a chance it had been in circulation a while and nobody noticed ......or if they did then it was disposed of in the machine.

or even an african student had a few in his pocket change


when i was working in an arcade now and again a handful used to turn up.

one time we thought we'd been hit by the swazi mafia when about 8 showed up from the bank of a partytime double decker,hopper inspections only yielded about half a dozen more so it was ok.

last time i checked they were worth about 7p,yet internet coin dealers want about 2-3 pounds each :x

i've often pondered on the logistics of getting a consignment from southern africa to the u.k ,but surely if it was that easy crims would be doing it on a noticable scale.


iirc they are actually minted here and then exported :lol:

there are restrictions on posting stuff like this across, and if you ever got caught with a bagfull at customs you are probably going to get locked up.. plus you have to travel a long long way from your normal routes to use them

guy got locked up years ago for shipping loads across. Ash I think, I dont know him tho.
