Looks bleak. There's one more thing to come out and then nothing else in the forseeable future. See some of you down the job centre guys.

We were overdue the moaning that there's no playables thread. Let's all sit down in our inner circle and say our prayers.

Cant see where the next new machine that will be doable will come from, but we'll see I suppose....

Seems unlikely any company will drift from either DOND styles for BFM or shitty slow progressions for crest...

I mean come on you go into any big chain pub these days and u just get BMFs(DOND)/CYC clones/pacmanpowerup or the odd bank job.... none of which are really upto much are they... and all pubs will eventually go that way, all these alien/diggers/coins its all going out the window - will just get slimmer and slimmer pickings on those, so unless there is something more solid on those games, I can't see where the profit will come from as future releases are nearly duty bound to be clones of those games I've just mentioned!

You posted a few days ago saying you'll come out of the game a millionaire. If so what the fuck would you be doing in the job centre?

If it does all end then so be it. Its been a great ride, and I'm still just about young enough to build a half decent career.

That said, its all about who you know, and the industry being dragged in a different direction may open new doors for some and close doors for others. So long as machines are programmed by human beings certain people will benefit, because humans are susceptible to both error and greed.

Agreed with mcstreak with the human greed notion, that's definitely true.

Also agree with ob, we play in the same areas and it's not great down here, chain pubs you may as well not bother checking, there's probably a 1% chance of a playable in. Been checking a lot and found very little.

There's also the problem of over saturation. Too many players fighting for too few machines. Which is a huge issue in Kent.

I'm still making money, good money compared to a conventional job. It's not as good as the summer when I had good machines coming out of my ears, but it's not bad enough to get me to the job centre just yet! If nothing comes out we probably have about 6 months left I think.
Bored of the grind.

Isn't the current lull good for the true pro players that have made a living for a number of years. The players that were taking easy pickings in the summer will fade away leaving more for the old skool player ?
